Qualifications

Required

  • 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience

  • Knowledge of QA methodology and tools
  • Experience in manual testing
  • Experience in automation testing

Preferred

  • 2+ years of UI Automation experience (preferably on mobile platforms)
  • Knowledge of at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, Objective C

Leading innovations on furthering the reading experiences will drive the future of digital reading of complex non-fiction content and complex language specific layouts.

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer (Sr. QAE) to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the highest standards of quality for Sync service (supporting reader's data sync across Kindle Android, iOS, FOS and E-reader surfaces), with a heavy focus on automation. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert who is passionate about driving a culture of quality across the organization.

As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you will work with consumer application testing expertise. You will join the team of hands-on, pro-active, self-motivated and seasoned professionals.

This role is not just about finding bugs but about shaping the quality culture at our organization. We are looking for someone who is technically adept, has a backbone for insisting on high standards, and is driven to make a significant impact on the quality of Kindle software.

Key job responsibilities

* Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and cases for kindle software, ensuring thorough coverage and attention to detail.

* Develop and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.

* Collaborate with development teams to identify, document, and resolve defects.

* Continuously update and improve testing methodologies, tools, and processes to ensure best practices.

* Isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution

* Analyze test results, prepare test reports, and track quality metrics to inform management decisions.

* Stay abreast of new technologies and testing tools, applying this knowledge to improve our testing practices.

* Advocate for quality standards and processes, influencing peers and stakeholders to foster a quality-centric culture across the organization.

A day in the life

We collaborate across job types and families as a unified team; we work closely with Product Managers and UX on features to understand requirement, dev partners to understand testing and automation requirements, and review test plans and processes with a community of QAEs and SDE-Ts, with deep experience in our problem space.

About the team

Our team focuses on solving complex distributed problems in synchronizing data across client-side devices. We are looking for someone with a passion for problem-solving.

Basic Qualifications

- 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience

- 4+ years of delivering test frameworks, test tools, leading the QA projects and initiatives experience

- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role

- Experience in manual testing

- Experience in automation testing

Preferred Qualifications

- 2+ years of UI Automation (preferably on mobile platforms) experience

- Knowledge of at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, Objective C

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
