The Production Manager, Manufacturing at RheoSense is responsible for overseeing all manufactured products, value-added services, and managing the day-to-day operations of the organization's manufacturing facility. Responsibilities

  • Review production demands or schedules to ascertain products such as types, quantities, and specifications of products, and scheduled delivery dates to plan department operations.
  • Implement, evaluate, and control resources and schedules to ensure continued production and minimal downtime.
  • Lead the development, implementation, certification, and maintenance of ISO standards.
  • Establish a balance between increased productivity and reduced costs of manufacturing operations.
  • Develop workflow policies and procedures that improve efficiency without compromising safety or quality.
  • Develop, implement, enforce, and monitor quality control systems and standards to detect production problems.
  • Implement cost control programs and procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Production Documentation Management and record-keeping system.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and Process Excellence methods.
  • Identify and oversee operational improvements necessary to scale up the production volume.
  • Track operational output measures and anticipate and correct trends that would compromise the achievement of financial targets.
  • Manage and motivate the production team for timely and exceptional quality products.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other department-specific duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or relevant discipline to understand the manufacturing processes.
  • 5 - 6 years of post-graduate industry experience in the manufacturing of scientific instruments.
  • Hands-on style leader and manager with experience in managing production.
  • Excellent working knowledge of quality control.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with ISO standards and certification implementation.
  • Ability to find solutions promptly to production issues.
  • Working knowledge of various industrial metal and plastic processes.
  • Fluent in reading engineering drawings and understand GD&T.
  • Ability to manage vendors with excellent communication skills and to select the right vendors for quality and cost with thorough qualification.
  • Experience in MEMS or microfabrication is a plus!
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptable to a small, but fast-paced, and high-growth environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, move boxes up to 40 lbs.

Minimum Qualifications
