Eaton's North American Sales division is seeking an Application Engineer to join our team in Wilsonville, OR.   • Effectively communicate product value proposition and product line strategies.
  • Review and provide feedback on product literature developed by product line.
  • Serve on special teams to enhance team performance and drive process improvement.
  • Provide training to Technical Support Engineers.
  • Call on electrical engineers at related consulting firms across the assigned sales territory.
  • Provide support on major projects including submittals and interfacing with the customer and project consultants.
  • Work with institutional end users to gain acceptance and promote Eaton products.
  • Conduct product seminars and training on Eaton products and solutions.
  • Assist customers with design build opportunities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • Minimum five (5) years of electrical sales and/or electrical engineering experience
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • A Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Knowledgeable of Eaton Electrical products, services and competitors
  • Ability to write technical specifications for new projects
  • Skillful at leading teams, consensus building, and mentoring
  • Initiative and self-management skills
  • Value selling experience
  • Electrical product knowledge
  • Presentation and training skills
  • Understanding of selling techniques and Eaton’s capabilities
  • Technical knowledge regarding the application of Power Distribution products
  • Proficient on some or all of the following: Power Quality and reliability products and applications, Power Monitoring products and application, Power control products and applications.

This is a great opportunity to join and support a technical sales team in the Portland, OR area. In this role, you will help our consulting engineering community understand how to apply Eaton productions in a wide array of projects - from commercial construction to complex industrial end user projects!What you’ll do:The primary function of the Application Engineer is to achieve acceptability of Eaton’s Electrical products in the marketplace, while providing technical leadership and mentoring for sales engineers, OEMs, outside rep agencies, and to both internal and external customers. This position will be responsible for leading the design, development and validation of Eaton products and service applications. This position will be familiar with competitive product offerings and be able to position Eaton products to best compete against competitive products.
