The Export Compliance Specialist at Expeditors is a subject matter expert in Trade Compliance, responsible for ensuring the company's compliance with all company policies and applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities

  • Monitor AES Errors mailbox
  • Support use of the Export Declaration Monitoring Application (EDMA)
  • Conduct daily reviews via EDMA in accordance with Expeditors review guidelines
  • Conduct monthly GATES reviews for LAX and HNL in accordance with Expeditors review guidelines
  • Conduct daily DG shipment reviews and document corrective actions taken by operations
  • Respond to Census Verification Requests
  • Evaluate the need for Parameter Requests
  • Review CRT requests received from operations before sending to RTCM for RVP approval
  • Assist in the enforcement of Expeditors' Customs Export Operational Process Standards, policies and procedures
  • Ensure personnel processing Department of State (DOS) Shipments are qualified
  • Attend monthly Export Customs Compliance calls hosted by CHQ
  • Attend monthly DG calls hosted by CHQ
  • Meet regularly with Operations leadership to share metrics and discuss corrective actions to mitigate enterprise risk
  • File and follow-up on Improvement Opportunities related to Export Customs Compliance
  • Facilitate Export Customs Compliance Specialist Certification in the branch
  • Provide monthly Export Customs Compliance Training and publish Compliance Tips
  • Ensure that branch employees are kept up to date on regulatory developments
  • Monitor TSA compliance training for the District and ensure staff are completing in a timely manner

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Passed background check
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, and familiarity with PowerPoint)
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Must not require future sponsorship for employment Visa
  • Must have the ability to work overtime in support of department needs
  • Fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize throughout the workday while remaining focused and organized
  • Demonstrated ability to be pro-active in thought and action
  • Strong organization skills
  • Analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
  • Willing to pitch in and help on last minute projects or assist team members

Scope of Position:As a subject matter expert in Trade Compliance, the Export Compliance Specialist assists in ensuring that the company meets its obligation to comply with all Company policies and all applicable laws and regulations

Position Schedule: Monday - Friday / 0800 - 1700

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations and Communications
