Responsibilities

  • Be LOTO authorized.
  • Perform STOP Observations and safety/environmental reporting.
  • Complete monthly safety walk-throughs.
  • Identify, eliminate, and/or communicate any unsafe conditions.
  • Comply with all PPE requirements.
  • Maintain and improve cleanliness of assigned work areas.
  • Perform a variety of tasks requiring knowledge of wiring techniques and equipment.
  • Work from schematic, wiring diagrams, rough sketches, or manuals.
  • Troubleshoot 2 & 3 Phase motors.
  • Recommend and maintain spare parts inventory.
  • Assemble and fit together cables to form complete units.
  • Calibrate equipment according to specifications.
  • Gather tools and supplies for work site.
  • Check operations of machines, lubricate equipment, keep machines clean, diagnose problems, and make adjustments.
  • Assist with moving machines within facilities.
  • Build simple interior or exterior structures and understand trade codes.
  • Possess knowledge of welding and cutting equipment.
  • Read mechanical schematics and perform basic mechanical repairs.
  • Use CMMS system (SAP) to create and close Work Orders.
  • Aid and assist operations as needed.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting of fluid power systems.
  • Maintain forklift and manlift licenses.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Maintenance certification preferred
  • 2 years Mechanical and Maintenance experience preferred
  • 2 years of Electrical experience preferred
  • 2 year industrial and machine-tool maintenance experience preferred

**Duties/Responsibilities**

**EHS and 5S**

+ Ensure safe work environment in plant.

+ Be LOTO authorized.

+ Demonstrate active preventive engagement in EHS through performing STOP Observations and safety/environmental reporting.

+ Complete assigned monthly safety walk-through.

+ Identify, eliminate, and/or communicate any unsafe conditions.

+ Comply with all PPE requirements.

+ Comply with all CertainTeed Siding and EHS Policies.

+ Maintain and improve cleanliness of assigned work areas.

**Maintenance**

+ Perform a variety of tasks, which require a thorough knowledge of wiring techniques, wiring tools, and equipment.

+ Work from schematic, wiring diagrams, rough sketches, or manuals. Test various electrical circuits with a variety of test equipment.

+ Demonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting 2 & 3 Phase motors.

+ Recommend and/or maintain spare parts inventory of OEM parts and supplies.

+ Assemble and/or fit together cables to form complete units.

+ Calibrate equipment in accordance to their particular specifications.

+ Gather tools and supplies to be used at work site; keep tools in proper location when not in use.

+ Check operations of machines, lubricate equipment as specified, keep machines clean, diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments

+ Assist with moving machines within facilities that can be done with available equipment and manpower.

+ Build simple interior or exterior structures, including working from prints or drawings. Understanding of trade codes is preferred.

+ Possess a beginning knowledge of welding and cutting equipment, as well as proper operation of hand and power tools.

+ Be able to read mechanical schematics and perform basic mechanical repairs.

+ Have a working knowledge of CMMS system (SAP), being able to create and close Work Orders (WO), and identify open WO.

+ Aid and assist operations as needed.

+ Perform basic troubleshooting of fluid power systems, including reading schematics.

Maintain forklift and manlift licenses.

+ 2 years of Electrical experience preferred

+ 2 year industrial and machine-tool maintenance experience Preferred

+ Installing, maintaining, and repairing production machines and plant equipment.

+ Providing emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment to minimize downtime.

+ Diagnosing problems and effectively replacing or repairing defective parts.

+ Testing and making adjustments to machinery for optimal performance.

+ Using various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform duties.

+ Complying with safety regulations to ensure a secure work environment.

+ Maintaining clean and orderly work areas to enhance efficiency.

+ 3 rd shift position 10:00pm to 6:30am overtime may be required on occasions.

+ There is a .75 differential for any hours worked between 6:00pm and 6:00am
