  • Produces diagnostic exams.
  • Responsible for workflow including PACS to obtain a permanent record of the examination.
  • Assists in the daily operating of the Imaging Services Department.
  • Uses sterile techniques with all procedures requiring it.
  • Assists the radiologist with procedures when a physician's presence is required.
  • Performs routine procedure with stationary portable equipment in all areas of the facility, including the operating room.
  • Performs procedures of various types to include routine and invasive procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with patients of all ages.
  • Extensive knowledge of the current operation of all departmental equipment, accessories and procedures.
  • Ability to diagnose basic equipment malfunctions and communicate with service personnel.
  • Uses initiative and independent judgement when necessary.
  • Ability to train various staff types in essential job functions and evaluate those functions.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to use proper channels of communication.
  • Ability to coordinate varied tasks.

Qualifications

Required

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • Currently registered through ARDMS as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Graduate from an accredited program in Ultrasound
