Field Service Engineer

**Job Description Summary**

The Service unit of GE Grid Solutions is currently seeking a HVDC-FACTS field specialist. Reporting directly to the Head of Service Field HVDC-FACTS, the incumbent will be responsible, in collaboration with the client and the engineering group to ensure the commissioning of HVDC-FACTS systems and provide support equipment. It will also train and support these colleagues and the client's employees in performing this task. It should also be available 24/24 for support in case of emergency.

**Job Description**

**Essential Responsibilities:**

More specifically, you will:

+ Resource planning, equipment and time for commissioning, repair or construction expertise.

+ Manage Workers customer and / or switch on the site.

+ Perform commissioning tests

+ Prepare progress reports, test results, non-compliance report

+ Annotating and editing drawings 'as built'.

+ Participate in the drafting of technical procedures.

+ Submit to external customers and internal technical documentation necessary for operation and maintenance of equipment. Provide information supplements as needed.

+ Provide technical assistance in the preparation of submission.

+ Analyze, investigate and propose solutions to problems concerning GE discontinued products. Test and industrialize the solution.

+ Participate in the development of inspection criteria in collaboration with customers and engineering team.

**Required Qualifications:**

+ Technical degree in electrical with specialization in HVDC-FACTS or electrical

+ Minimum of 3 years of field experience in substation commissioning

+ Ability and willingness to travel 75% of the time

**Desired Characteristics:**

+ Have good ability to interact and communicate with clients and workers

+ Advanced knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment power

+ Fluency in English (mandatory) and French will be a plus.

+ Knowledge of design software (AutoCAD), knowledge of office software (MS Office Suite)

The salary range for this position is 98,400.00 - 131,200.00 - 164,000.00 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate's experience, their education, and the work location.
