Responsibilities
- Responsible for all phases of capital project management from conceptual estimate to equipment fabrication, construction, commissioning, validation, start-up, and close out.
- Responsible for project scope, financial spending forecasting, and schedule development.
- Research alternative solutions to customers with cost options while maintaining compliance within all user codes.
- Present and outline key project deliverables and scope to the leadership team for approvals to initiate projects and intermediate updates throughout the projects.
- Support the Aseptic Filling and freeze-drying manufacturing processes and other projects as needed.
- Support projects in Portage and Kalamazoo, including 2 manufacturing facilities and 1 lab facility.
- Report to the Engineering Manager over Capital Projects.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical)
- Project Management or engineering experience as lead related to freeze-drying (full cycle project management)
- 5+ years' experience working on Aseptic Filling and freeze-drying processes
- Experience in Project Management Systems - PowerPoint, MS Project, Microsoft Project Online

Job Description
The Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for all phases of capital project management from conceptual estimate to equipment fabrication, equipment construction, commissioning, validation, start-up, and close out. They will also be responsible for project scope, financial spending forecasting, and schedule development. They will research alternative solutions to customers with other cost options while maintaining compliance within all user codes. They will present and outline key project deliverables and scope to the leadership team for both approvals to initiate projects as well as intermediate updates throughout the projects. The role mainly supports the Aseptic Filling and freeze-drying manufacturing processes but will also support other projects as needed. The Aseptic project is currently in the conceptual design phase and is expected to run through 2028. The consultant may be hired in after a year if there is an open headcount role; otherwise, they will remain a long-term consultant.

Work Environment
This role will support projects in Portage and Kalamazoo, including 2 manufacturing facilities and 1 lab facility. The position reports to the Engineering Manager over Capital Projects. Projects include capital equipment, packaging lines, boiler projects, warehousing projects, etc. The project is expected to last 12 months but could go longer. A typical workweek would be 40 hours with potential overtime.
