Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of four (4) years of professional IT experience.
  • Two (2) years of lead work or supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing IT project, portfolio, or agile efforts.
  • Understanding of Project Management Office skill sets, trends in methodologies, usage of Project Portfolio Management tools, and emerging best practices.
  • Prior experience supporting enterprise tool such as Planview, Jira, or similar tools.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, customers, vendors, and other personnel.
  • Ability to deliver effective verbal or written messages that facilitate a mutual understanding on both parties.
  • Customer service skills that include active listening, empathy, and problem-solving.

Preferred

  • General knowledge of financial management and budget planning processes used by state agencies.
  • Ability to translate technical terms and concepts into easily understandable terms for upper management and customers.
  • Broad-based knowledge of MNIT's business environment, challenges, and needs.
  • Understanding of union rules and HR policies to set staff expectations.
  • Skill in influencing behavior and work output of various stakeholders.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that systems analysis, design, cost/benefit analysis, and information processing planning and budgeting requirements are performed effectively and within time and cost restraints. This is a working supervisor role where supervisor will be actively assigned work to deliver outcomes.
