The Food Service Worker at RWJBarnabas Health is responsible for preparing and delivering quality food for patients, visitors, and staff, adhering to HACCP standards. Responsibilities
- Demonstrate knowledge of how to operate safely and maintain/clean various kitchen equipment including reach in refrigerator, juice machine, assembly line, work stations, blender, and coffee machine.
- Demonstrate knowledge of proper portions and serving utensils for all tray line items.
- Demonstrate knowledge of proper temperature ranges and procedures for items outside acceptable ranges.
- Locate and stock assembly line with needed items from production areas/walk-in cold storage.
- Store food before and after the meal.
- Prepare garnishes for assembly line.
- P portion desserts, soups, and cereals for assembly line.
- Pre-prep desserts for following day.
- Know first in first out storage procedures.
- Read patient name and room location and correctly identify patient for tray delivery by use of hospital wristband identification.
- Deliver and pick up trays from patient's rooms.
- Complete annual safety Physical & Food in-service.

- Successfully completes the Mandatory Education as assigned

Job Overview:
