As an Electronics Repair Technician at Insight Global, you will be responsible for functionally testing, troubleshooting to the component level, repairing or reworking, calibrating, inspecting, and certifying a variety of electronic subassemblies, assemblies, and completed instruments.   • May collect, analyze and report data on test processes and act as information source on related procedures and practices.
  • Under limited supervision, receive no instructions on routine work assignments and general instructions on new assignments.
  • Solve problems of moderate to high complexity.
  • Most work is not verified by another, and errors may create loss of funds, accounts, cause delays or affect Company image.
  • Independent contacts with internal customers requiring discussion and interpretation.
  • Sound knowledge of related test practices, processes and procedures, ability to operate all types of electronic test equipment.
  • Knowledge of computer systems architecture, high level language programming and computer bus structuring fundamentals desirable.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to troubleshoot test processes and use judgment in resolving problems.

Qualifications

Required

  • At least 6 months experience in electronics troubleshooting and repair
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory (current, voltage, power)
  • Understanding and experience with soldering
  • Has worked in a lean manufacturing environment or has knowledge of lean manufacturing protocols
  • Technical Associate's degree or graduate of electronic technical school or equivalent

As a Electronic Repair Technician on our Solmetric team you will be tasked with functionally testing, trouble-shooting to the component level, repairing or reworking, calibrating, inspecting and certifying a variety of electronic subassemblies, assemblies and completed instruments.

Day to Day:

In this position, you would be spending time both assembling electronic products, doing testing, and troubleshooting work. Diagnose and locate circuit, component and equipment faults. Adjust, align, replace or repair electronic equipment, assemblies and components following equipment manuals and schematics, and using soldering tools and other hand and power tools. Complete work orders, test and maintenance reports.

Working Conditions and Basic Requirements:

* Position may require occasional heavy lifting (> 50 lbs) or movement of objects up to 40 lbs.
