The FSQA Supervisor at Aspire Bakeries is responsible for supervising FSQA Technicians to effectively implement food safety and quality procedures, meeting all regulatory, customer, and Aspire Bakeries requirements. Responsibilities

  • Comply with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (i.e. BRC, SQF)
  • Support the HARPC Team in the implementation of an effective Food Safety plan
  • Document, control, and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Meet and exceed customer requirements
  • Work to reduce customer/consumer complaints for foods manufactured on site using root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures
  • Day to day management of the Tech 3, FSQAs including training and development of team and clear identification of objectives
  • Report food safety and quality issues, corrective actions, and preventive measures to the Manager, FSQA
  • Coach, development and performance evaluations of all the Tech 3, FSQAs
  • Ensure completion of Quality Assurance Procedures Annual review by all FSQA Technologists
  • Assist in investigation and disposition of finished product placed on hold as a result of quality issues
  • Maintain the required hygiene, safety and quality standards on the production floor

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or relevant post-secondary science-related courses
  • Training in HACCP (Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points)
  • Trained in a Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standard such as BRC or SQF
  • Basic understanding of microbiology
  • 3 years food industry manufacturing or quality experience including supervisory experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of quality management and food safety systems

The FSQA Supervisor has the primary responsibility for protecting the food by supervising FSQA Technicians to effectively implement food safety and quality procedures and meeting all regulatory, customer, and Aspire Bakeries requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for complying with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards (i.e. BRC, SQF)
  • Responsible for supporting the HARPC Team in the implementation of an effective Food Safety plan focused on the elimination of biological, chemical, physical and economically motivated hazards from our foods.
  • Responsible for documentation, control, and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) including procedures, records, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Responsible for meeting and exceeding customer requirements
  • Works to reduce customer/consumer complaints for foods manufactured on site using root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive measures

  • Reports food safety and quality issues, corrective actions, and preventive measures to the Manager, FSQA

Salary Range: $66,560 - $79,000

The final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to location, shift, education, skill, and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates that meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed In this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates that exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
