Development Manager

Position Summary

We are offering the position of development manager to a highly skilled, organized, and creative-minded individual to help lead existing and future development efforts of company websites, applications, web services, and databases. This individual will be responsible for a small group of software developers, driving the development, maintenance, and architecture of software systems and services from conception to finished product. The development manager is responsible for attention to detail in code and communication, as well as building technical relationships with other departments in the organization and third-party vendors as required.

The development manager will report directly to the Director of Product Development and be responsible for a team of development staff, working primarily as a developer on the product overseeing their team’s progress as well as their own.

Responsibilities

• Spend 45+ hours per week leading, developing, and managing a small team of developers in the development of both front-end and back-end websites, applications, web services, and database architectures in the .NET suite of products.
• Provide development leadership, mentorship, and personal growth to individual software teams.
• Assist development teams in the design and implementation of software products belonging to the ACE brand.
• Identify and document technical project requirements as necessary.
• Work with teams in the design and development of SOAP XML and RESTful APIs for the distribution of ACE products.
• Effectively communicate with both internal and external technical teams.
• Report to Director of Product Development on aligned product.
• Work closely with Director of Product Development to allocate or deallocate resources needed on their respective teams.
• Be knowledgeable and up to date with technology trends in software development and the travel industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with three to five years of experience or demonstrated leadership and knowledge to lead in an object-oriented programming environment using Microsoft .NET software frameworks and databases.
• Professional knowledge of the C# programming language including the use of
• .NET standard class libraries and framework libraries.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later and the SQL/T-SQL programming language.
• Ability to lead the growth and development of a team of software developers
• and advance company products.
• Extensive knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience with both SOAP XML and RESTful web services and APIs.
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 and later.
• Working knowledge of version control and development workflows using Git.
