  • Assist in overseeing the administration of payroll and benefits.
  • Coordinate with third party administrator to manage disability claims.
  • Oversee leave administration.
  • Administer COBRA enrollments/changes and manage unemployment claims and workers compensation cases.
  • Collaborate and liaise with headquarters HR team on various aspects of the HR function.

Qualifications

Required

  • Strong background in human resources business partnership.
  • Strong knowledge of computer software applications including payroll, benefits, time & attendance, and HRIS systems.
  • High level of interpersonal skills.
  • Strong understanding of Human Resources processes and terminology, payroll and benefit processes and procedures.
  • Analytical skills and ability to create actionable reports from data.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to complete multiple tasks on deadline.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Bilingual English and Korean.

Preferred

  • Previous HR Specialist or HR generalist experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ADP and SAP systems.

Position Overview


The Sr. HR Specialist will serve as a business partner to members of the leadership team, will assist in the direction of routine HR functions (including hiring, employee life cycle, employee relations, and policy administration), and may oversee the administration of payroll and benefits for approximately 230 employees. This position reports to the Sr. HR Manager and is asked to be onsite 4 days per week, with one day allowed remote.


Key Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department, including oversite of direct report(s)
  • Provides support and guidance to HR team members when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • Supports the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants, particularly for managerial, exempt, and professional roles; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
  • Assists in oversight of employee relations matters.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Assist in overseeing the administration of payroll and benefits as needed; act as liaison for employee matters as they relate to payroll and benefits as needed.
  • Coordinate with third party administrator to manage disability claims according to the plan.
  • Oversee leave administration.
  • Administer COBRA enrollments/changes and responds to and manages unemployment claims and workers compensation cases.
  • Collaborate and liaise with headquarters HR team on various aspects of the HR function.

  • Strong understanding of Human Resources processes and terminology, payroll and benefit processes and procedures, including eligibility and enrollment rules and benefit procedures.
  • Analytical skills and ability to create useful and actionable reports from data.

  • Possess strong organization skills and ability to complete multiple tasks and high volume of work on deadline.

Education/Experience


  • Previous HR Specialist or HR generalist experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience & ability administering payroll and benefits processes.
  • Experience with ADP and SAP systems a plus.
  • Bilingual English and Korean required.
