Responsibilities
- Provide high level of direct and individualized care
- Learn from a full spectrum of medical diagnoses and comorbidities
- Participate in a varied medical/telemetry population including sepsis, chest pain, patients requiring isolation or admission to negative airflow rooms, and more
- Support diagnostic procedures such as thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions, and chest tubes
- Perform nasogastric insertion and maintenance
- Insert and maintain enteral feeding tubes
- Provide care for patients requiring cardiac monitoring due to chest pain or arrhythmias
- Manage GI abnormalities
- Perform trach care, CBI, IV Therapy
Qualifications
Required
- Graduate of an Accredited Program
- Specialized field of study should be nursing
- A current and valid nursing license
- Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

We have a varied medical/telemetry population including:
· Sepsis
· Chest Pain
· Patients requiring isolation or admission to negative airflow rooms
· Patients requiring skin and wound care- DHFT, PEGs, Wound Vacs
· Diagnostic procedures including thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions and chest tubes.
· Nasogastric Insertion and Maintenance
· Enteral Feeding Tube Insertion and Maintenance
· Patients requiring cardiac monitoring due to chest pain or arrhythmias
· Patients with GI abnormalities
· Trach care, CBI, IV Therapy
