Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the processing and allocation of laboratory specimens and orders from all sources.
  • Verifies proper patient and specimen identification and appropriateness of specimen and accompanying orders.
  • Organizes laboratory workflow and prioritizes processing and distribution of specimens.
  • Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems to test request, accession correctly, label, and deliver specimens to appropriate laboratory sections within acceptable time frames.
  • Performs specified procedures within scope of established testing methods and responsibilities.
  • Performs and appropriately documents routine maintenance and quality control procedures on specified equipment.
  • Troubleshoots as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • 1 year of clinical experience or equivalent education (e.g., Phlebotomist).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Graduate phlebotomy program.

Experience Requirements:
1 Year Clinical - Phlebotomist Required - Or Equivalent Education Requirement

Education Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Graduate Phlebotomy Preferred

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Phlebotomy Preferred

Hours of Work:
10p-8a

Weekend Requirements:
Every Other

Call Requirements:
2 or 3 weekends per year
