Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key point of contact for employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, investigations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to leadership and employees on best practices in resolving workplace concerns.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, concerns, or grievances and make recommendations for resolution.
  • Foster a positive, fair, and inclusive work environment by promoting open communication and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Advise leaders on performance management strategies, including coaching, disciplinary actions, and termination procedures.
  • Assist in developing and refining performance improvement plans (PIPs) and ensure consistent application across departments.
  • Support employees by addressing their concerns, providing information on company policies, and ensuring a clear and transparent communication process.
  • Assist employees with other HR needs as they arise.
  • Work with Employee Relations and HR Compliance Manager to ensure organizational compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of employee policies and procedures that align with legal requirements and promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Conduct audits, reviews, and updates to employee relations policies to ensure they meet current legal standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases and document investigations, actions taken, and outcomes.
  • Complete regular OIG background checks.
  • Maintain the company's employee filing and retention system.
  • Partner with Learning and Development to develop and deliver training programs related to HR policies, handbook, employment law, safety, and workplace ethics.
  • Support HR initiatives, including employee engagement, retention, and recognition programs.
  • Act as a culture and engagement champion for the organization.
  • Lead the company's stay and exit interview process.
  • Analyze feedback and engagement data to identify trends and areas for improvement, presenting findings to leadership with recommendations for action.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources, with a focus on employee relations.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting investigations, resolving conflicts, and handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to navigate complex and difficult situations.

As an Employee Relations Specialist with EMS|MC, you will:

Employee Relations
