Hitachi Vantara Federal is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to support its dynamic U.S. Federal Government business. Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contract expert to HVF's stakeholders.
  • Review U.S. Federal Government RFPs and help develop proposal responses; participate in proposal strategy sessions to defend contract equities; contribute to and review proposal technical and business narratives; prepare Reps & Certs and other contractual documents required for proposal submission.
  • Coordinate and resolve contracting issues with business stakeholders: Sales, Channel, Professional Services, Marketing, Finance, and Customer support teams.
  • Responsible for cradle-to-grave contract management, including verifying applicability of and compliance with pertinent laws, regulations and contract terms and conditions.
  • Provide internal training on federal procurement ethics, contract and process compliance reviews and audits, and maintaining appropriate Government and customer contract files.
  • As a subject matter expert, assist with the development and roll out of new or improved processes and procedures as the organization scales to growth projections.
  • Identify risks in business transactions and propose alternatives that lead to best solutions.
  • Adjust priorities independently, while continuing to provide timely and responsive contracts support.
  • Manage the contractual obligations resulting from the acquisition or merger of new companies into the Hitachi Vantara Federal organization.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff.

Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years related experience with federal government contracting, within a corporate or legal contracts department positioned in the IT industry.
  • Bachelor of Arts degree (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge of government contracting laws, rules and regulations including, but not limited to Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) and commercial items contracting requirements
  • Experience working with government contracting officers, prime contractors, system integrators, subcontractors and resellers
  • Experience supporting go-to-market functions in a constantly changing fast-paced environment
  • Ability and willingness to learn about emerging areas of government and applicable commercial contracts law
  • Work under minimal supervision on complex projects
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to excel in a team-oriented atmosphere
  • Strong written/verbal communications skills
  • Must want to build a contracts function that will support anticipated increasingly complex procurements.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to develop and maintain relationships
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, & Netsuite.

Preferred

  • Government contracting certification such as CFCM or CPCM.
  • In depth experience with channel transactions, product sales, and professional services agreements
  • JD candidates welcome.

The Role

Hitachi Vantara Federal is seeking a Senior Contracts Manager to support its face-paced and dynamic U.S. Federal Government business. The Senior Contracts Manager will have full responsibility for the Company's contracts portfolio. You will be a trusted advisor to the Company's senior leadership and go-to-market teams for contracts and compliance matters. You will be the point person entrusted to follow and address emerging contractual regulatory issues, identify transactional and compliance risks, create tailored solutions, and manage contractual issues to successful resolution. In addition, you should feel comfortable establishing relationships with legal and contracts colleagues within the parent company, as well as with key stakeholders within HVF. In short, you will become a trusted, resourceful, member of the Company's go-to-market engine.
You will encounter the full suite of issues arising from transactional negotiations, proposal support, and general contract management activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting and implementing policies attuned to emerging regulatory matters; negotiating, drafting, and managing Hitachi Vantara Federal's indirect and direct U.S. Federal Government contracts and commercial agreements; and managing and implementing the supporting tools used to advance contracting automation and efficiencies. The position requires You to have a meticulous attention to detail, while deploying a strong sense of professional curiosity to understand the challenges facing the stakeholders whom you will support and the regulatory framework in which we operate.
