  • Recruit, interview, and hire employees for open positions.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and work rules and regulations.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5+ years manufacturing leadership experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of and experience in ERP systems

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing

Job Summary/Overview

The Supervisor, Production oversees the manufacturing of products to ensure the assembly of the highest quality parts and products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance, and customer specifications and delivery requirements, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prioritize, schedule and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the assigned production functions to ensure the production of the highest quality parts and products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance, and customer specifications and delivery requirements.
  • Establish and/or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Interpret specifications and drawings; delegate job orders and work duties to appropriate production staff.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to ensure the continual on-going improvement of processes, methods, productivity and quality, while reducing costs.
  • Analyze and resolve production problems, or assist workers in solving problems.
  • Inspect products prior to shipping to verify conformance to specifications when required.
  • Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve departmental goals.
  • Organize orders for upcoming dates in a timely and accurate manner; estimate hours, order materials or drawings as required.
  • Ensure the training of new and present employees in the processes and methods required to achieve the company's standards for quality, quantity and safety, and consistent with the company's principles.
  • Keep management informed on general conditions and on matters of importance which could impact quality, cost, safety or employee moral.
  • Handle employee relations issues. Develop and maintain positive employee relations and ensure open lines of communication with employees.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire the right employees for open positions.
  • Ensure the completion of all required records, paperwork, reports, documents, etc.
  • Ensure organizational compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations. Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability in using Lean manufacturing tools and processes to drive continuous improvement across complex organizations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and E-mail is required.
  • Knowledge of and experience in ERP systems.
  • Experienced in performance management and possesses the skills to coach, guide, and influence.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5+ years manufacturing leadership experience
  • Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing preferred.
