The Maintenance Supervisor at SIG Combibloc is responsible for leading, guiding, and following through with the maintenance shift to maximize productivity, improve quality of work, and increase safety.   • Work with all department personnel to find root causes to maintenance issues; identify and implement short- and long-term solutions.
  • Effectively interact with other departments and support groups within the organization.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shift, department and work crews.
  • Manage to completion, technical projects on an as needed basis, working from a Maintenance Project List.
  • Motivates the team to achieve work goals.
  • Completion of special projects as assigned.
  • Develop talents of department personnel to maximize skills and improve company efficiencies.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Perform administrative duties competently (E-Time system, LN, Virtual Client, shift reports, performance evaluations, safety investigation reports, progressive discipline, etc.).
  • Completion of assigned improvement tasks.
  • Support and reinforce improvement opportunities: Troubleshooting, Preventive Maintenance, and Training.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Qualifications

Required

  • A college degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field with lean certification is preferred but not required.
  • Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supervision, lean and ISO experience a plus, plastics industry preferred.
  • Additional education in quality, safety, mechanical or electrical areas of knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with plastic extrusion and/or injection molding is preferred.
  • Ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment with constant interface with people.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

Preferred

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • ASQ Quality Engineering certification
  • Lean Manufacturing
  • Experience in quality, safety, mechanical or electrical areas

Maintenance Supervisor

SUMMARY OF ROLE:

The Maintenance Supervisor provides leadership, guidance and follow-through to the maintenance shift throughout the day-to-day operations. The focus of the job is to maximize productivity, improve quality of work and increase safety of the facility and departments with the available resources. Continuously look for ways to develop the talents and improve effectiveness of Maintenance personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and provide daily guidance to shift personnel in Maintenance.

Responsibilities include assisting in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

YOU BRING THESE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
  • A college degree in Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, or a relevant field with lean certification is preferred but not required. Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Supervision, lean and ISO experience a plus, plastics industry preferred.
  • Additional education in quality, safety, mechanical or electrical areas of knowledge preferred.
  • Preferred experience would include Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification, ASQ Quality Engineering certification, Lean Manufacturing, etc.
  • Experience with plastic extrusion and/or injection molding is preferred.
  • The ability to excel in a fast paced, high-energy environment with constant interface with people.
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
