Responsibilities

  • Complete required PitchBook trainings to learn sales strategy, company culture, and gain industry knowledge
  • Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly outreach goals including demo and call volume while providing an excellent experience for prospective clients
  • Connect with prospects through written and verbal communication in order to book demos that show off the PitchBook product offering and drive deal closure
  • Prospect potential accounts, searching for key points of contact through marketing generated leads
  • Drive engagement with prospects through marketing provided materials via Highspot
  • Act as a consultant to prospects by seeking to understand their needs and business priorities
  • Guide potential clients through needs analysis and discovery sessions to qualify leads and drive new opportunities
  • Work closely with our Outside Sales team to learn about the needs of our clients and the end-to-end sales cycle
  • Document the details of each prospective client interaction in Salesforce to improve the customer experience and drive deal closure
  • Consistent follow-up on prospective client inquiries
  • Set and achieve a professional development goal during your internship
  • Support the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviors
  • Participate in various company initiatives and projects as requested

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled as a junior in a higher education program (college or university): Business, Economics, Finance, and related majors preferred
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire

Preferred

  • Prior experience with Salesforce or similar CRM preferred
  • Interested in financial markets or services, particularly private equity and venture capital
  • Ability to operate with a strong sense of urgency and deliver results
  • Demonstrate curiosity with a positive attitude
  • Demonstrate prioritization skills to handle the large volume of leads efficiently
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Team player with entrepreneurial spirit
  • Self-motivated, persistent, goal-oriented attitude, and can work effectively as an individual or as part of a team
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite including in-depth knowledge of Outlook, Word, and Excel

About the Role:

PitchBook's Sales organization drives our growth through new client acquisition. Our Inside Sales team is the first contact for most new business opportunities. PitchBook's Inside Sales team kicks off the process to convert prospects to long term clients closed by the Outside Sales team.

Our Sales Development Interns work diligently to engage incoming leads and prospect potential new business for the Business Development (Outside Sales) team. Sales Development Interns contribute to the delivery of overall sales goals by engaging warm leads through consistent call and email outreach to book product demos. They will also improve the client information stored in our CRM through consistent documentation of all client contacts.

Our Summer Internship is full-time program (40 hours per week) running from May/June - August 2024 (specific dates vary by office location). This internship is fully in-person in our NY office location.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Compensation
  • Annual hourly rate: $25/hour

*Starting pay will be based on several factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be different ranges for candidates by location.
