  • Ability to train and lead a large team (85+ employees)
  • Knowledge of ordering, inventory, and receiving
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to maintain a safe, healthful work environment
  • Experience handling personnel issues with HR
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred

  • Bar training and drink creation and development experience
  • Experience working in a full-service leisure hotel

JRDN Restaurant is Tower 23 Hotel's 10,000 square foot award-winning contemporary oceanfront steak and seafood restaurant, featuring casually sophisticated cuisine for lunch and dinner daily as well as weekend brunch. The restaurant's TOWER Bar entices guests with a California-fresh menu that can be experienced in the modern lounge or on the oceanfront terrace.

JRDN Restaurant is currently seeking a full-time General Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong P&L knowledge, beverage menu development experience and a proven ability to lead staff in a high-volume, up-market restaurant environment to continue the tradition of excellence and service for which JRDN is known.

As the senior department head, the General Manager is responsible for the restaurant's sales, customer service, expenses and profit. This is a hands-on position. The right candidate will work on the floor during high volume periods and to model service expectations.

Qualifications:

  • Required: 3+ years' experience working as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a high volume, upmarket restaurant environment
  • Required: Strong P&L knowledge
  • Required: Proven track record of being able to train and lead a large team (85+ employees)
  • Required: Knowledge of ordering, inventory and receiving
  • Required: Ability to work in a team environment
  • Required: Ability to maintain a safe, healthful work environment for employees and customers and the willingness and drive to correct deficiencies
  • Required: Experience effectively handling personnel issues confidentially and collaboratively with Human Resources
  • Required: Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Under the general direction of the CEO and COO, assist in developing an aggressive long and short-range financial objective consistent with Company objectives.
  • Cultivate positive guest relations, promptly address complaints and ensure overall guest satisfaction.
  • Support recruitment, hiring, and training of managers and hourly employees to promote a positive employee experience. Conduct ongoing training regularly.
  • Lead the F&B team in decision-making regarding purchases and adequate quantities of food and beverage as specified by company needs.
  • Monitor activities of employees to achieve set objectives; ensure adequate staffing and monitoring of full time / part time hours
  • Maximize sales potential through proper employee training.
  • Conduct weekly Management Team meetings and communicate effectively across all levels of the team.
  • Conduct annual management reviews.
