  • Collect, analyze, and report data to assess patient outcomes
  • Optimize the use of antibiotics to effectively treat infections and combat antibiotic resistance
  • Assist in the operations of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee
  • Be familiar with CFHC's program philosophies, goals, and objectives
  • Comply with all CFHC policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
  • Adhere to CFHC quality policies and participate actively in quality improvement process activities
  • Follow safety and OSHA requirements
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines
  • Report as needed to the CPO for any pertinent information or situations that impact patient care or CFHC liability
  • Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings
  • Enhance professional growth and development by attending in-service meetings and continuing education programs

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Florida Board of Pharmacy Registration
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Licensure (National)
  • Minimum 3 years work experience as a technician in a pharmacy setting
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams, and use of pharmacy management software, technology and equipment

Full Job Description

Title: Clinical Pharmacy Technician

Reports to: Clinical Pharmacist

FLSA Status: Hourly
Personnel Supervised: None

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Clinical Pharmacy Technician will assist in facilitating clinical pharmacy programs and initiatives. The Clinical Pharmacy Technician will help manage patients with complex conditions with a focus on medication adherence. They will also ensure the delivery of clinical pharmacy services to patients by increasing interactions between patients, pharmacists, providers, and other clinic staff.

The duties outlined shall be performed in accordance with the Central Florida Health Care's (CFHC) policies, procedures, Mission and Vision Statements, Overarching Goal, CFHC's performance expectations and all other Federal and State guidelines.

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED
  • Florida Board of Pharmacy Registration
  • Active Pharmacy Technician Licensure (National)
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years work experience as a technician in a pharmacy setting
  • Computer and Equipment: Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, OneNote, PowerPoint, Teams, and use of pharmacy management software, technology and equipment

RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Assist in the preparation of third-party billing

  • Assist in the operations of the Pharmacy & Therapeutics committee

  • Be cognizant of and comply with all CFHC policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations
  • Understand the requirements of CFHC's Exposure Control Plan
  • Assure compliance with this plan by support staff assigned to assist you
  • Adhere to CFHC quality policies and participate actively in quality improvement process activities
  • Follow safety and OSHA requirements
  • Treat patients, staff, and visitors with courtesy, sensitivity, and respect
  • Maintain patient confidentiality per HIPPA guidelines
  • Report as needed to the CPO for any pertinent information or situations that impact patient care or CFHC liability
  • Attend and participate in mandatory CFHC meetings (Center Specific quarterly meetings, Corporate meetings, and other meetings as designated by the CPO, CCO, or CEO)
  • Enhance professional growth and development by attending in-service meetings and continuing education programs
  • Maintain neat and professional appearance
  • Carry out any other activities deemed appropriate by the Clinical Pharmacist, CPO, CCO, or CEO

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Requires 80% or more time spent standing/walking
  2. Independently mobile
  3. Working under tight deadlines
  4. Ability to lift weight equivalent to that required when repositioning equipment and lifting supplies
  5. Ability to adapt and function in varying environments of workload, worksites, and work shifts
