  • Obtain urine and blood serum specimens from patients; package and submit to lab following protocol set by Provider
  • Run outstanding order reports for clinic follow-up
  • Prepare medication refills for the provider
  • Obtain prior authorizations for medications when requested
  • Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
  • Assist with patient calls
  • Maintain sample logs
  • Additional tasks assigned by management

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a Medical Assistant preferred
  • A minimum of one-year experience within the medical field
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Customer oriented
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Job Summary

The Medical Assistant facilitates patient care in a team-based environment. Excellent communication and customer service skills are required to provide a coordinated and high-quality customer service experience. The Medical Assistant will work with providers and other team members to provide a broad array of patient services and can perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
