Covera Health is seeking an experienced People Operations Manager to join their team. Responsibilities

  • Lead and enhance the onboarding program for new hires.
  • Conduct all exit interviews and facilitate follow-up feedback and coaching sessions with management.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of personnel, compliance, and leave policies.
  • Lead efforts on the development and delivery of employee communication plans.
  • Oversee records management within the HR system for all employees.

Qualifications

Required

  • At least 4+ years of People Operations/HR Generalist experience, preferably in a high-growth tech startup environment.
  • Comfort navigating a variety of situations and making sound judgment calls.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior professionalism with a clear understanding of what is HR confidential and what can be shared more openly.
  • High comfort level in providing respectful pushback and challenging the status quo.
  • Self-driven with the ability to partner and build relationships.
  • First-hand experience using an HRIS system and G-Suite tools.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced People Operations Manager to join our team. The person in this role will be responsible for managing all aspects of People Operations end-to-end in conjunction with the Chief People Officer and Talent Acquisition. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in People Operations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving tech environment.
In this role, you will be expected to partner with the Chief People Officer on the following responsibilities:

Employee Relations and Engagement
  • Drive employee engagement across all departments, including processing employee queries and providing employee relations support in a timely manner and in a way that reflects our culture and values.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Handle employee job-related conflicts, problem solving and dispute resolution.
  • Conduct employee related investigations as necessary.

Performance Management
  • Drive and support the engagement of performance evaluation systems.
  • Partner closely with Managers on Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) and disciplinary warnings, providing templates, guidance, and recommendations throughout the process.

People Operations Administration
  • Partner across the people team to process employee file updates, terminations, resignations, and other changes in the HRIS system.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws and company policies.
  • Manage all aspects of benefits administration in conjunction with JustWorks, and other HR-related operations tasks.
  • Leave Administration: Managing FMLA and non-FMLA leaves, including informing employees of their rights under FMLA, STD, and other Covera Health policies.

Onboarding and Offboarding
  • Lead and enhance the onboarding program for new hires, ensuring a seamless, thorough, and engaging introduction to the company and its culture.
  • Offboarding: Conduct all exit interviews and facilitate follow-up feedback and coaching sessions with management. Escalate significant feedback to business leadership as appropriate.

Training and Development
  • Identify training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives and programs.

Policies and Procedures
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of personnel, compliance, and leave policies in alignment with company goals and local regulations, ensuring clarity and simplicity in HR communications for employee understanding.

Employee Communications
  • Lead efforts on the development and delivery of employee communication plans, programs, and activities that inform, excite, and inspire our employees by building connections across our strategic priorities.
  • Promote open communication channels and ensure that employees feel comfortable voicing concerns.

People Analytics
  • Oversee records management within the HR system for all employees.
  • Create and analyze dashboards, scorecards, and metrics to optimize team performance, identify opportunities for improvement, provide actionable insights, and support informed talent-related decision-making.
Special Considerations
  • While we are a remote-first company, we do have a NYC office located in the SoHo area. Many of our local employees come into the office on Tuesdays for collaboration and connection, and we have a strong preference for this hire to be local to help facilitate onsite interviews and be a connection for in-office activities.
Your Profile:
  • At least 4+ years of People Operations/HR Generalist experience, preferably in a high-growth tech startup environment.
  • Comfort navigating a variety of situations, listening to multiple perspectives, and making sound judgment calls based on best practice, precedence, or legal requirements when necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a talent for balancing concise summaries of key investigation findings verbally while creating detail-oriented, fact-driven, documentation.
  • Superior professionalism with a clear understanding of what is HR confidential and what can be shared more openly.
  • High comfort level in providing respectful pushback and challenging the status quo.
  • Self-driven with the ability to partner and build relationships to effectively work with entry-level through to C-suite level.
  • First-hand experience using an HRIS system and G-Suite tools.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

The minimum and maximum salary for this position ranges from $110,000 - $140,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. Final salary will be based on a number of factors including but not limited to, a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, expertise and location.
