The Buyer I at All Flex Solutions is responsible for purchasing raw material, components, supplies, and MRO items based on price, delivery, and quality to support internal customers and monitor supplier compliance. This role involves placing purchase orders, supporting sales and manufacturing, resolving supply issues, and managing supplier contracts and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Place purchase orders for BOM items as determined by MRP. Communicate material shortages to production planners and customer service.
  • Place purchase orders for supplies, equipment, etc. as required considering price, delivery, and quality for best value.
  • Support sales, manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance by sourcing and quoting needed products.
  • Contact suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and other problems.
  • Monitor vendor performance and recommend modification or improvements when necessary.
  • Establish, evaluate and monitor contracts to ensure supplies comply with terms and conditions established.
  • Provide assistance with special projects, either assigned, or as needed
  • Work cooperatively with others to assure inventory accuracy. Communicate and resolve receiving issues, assisting in reconciliation.
  • Coordinate outsource purchase orders internally and send to service suppliers.
  • Monitor expired material, evaluate disposition and communicate actions.
  • Create new items accurately and completely as directed by new demands.
  • Coordinate and manage outside facility services.
  • Review and assist accounts payable with invoice discrepancies.
  • Run on time delivery reports monthly and investigate into causes for late shipments.
  • Calculate, manage, and communicate scorecards to suppliers quarterly. Follow up with signatures if below our standard when a SCAR has been issued. Work with the supplier to resolve SCAR issue and monitor as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably a job shop.
  • Minimum 2 years' purchasing and/or planning experience preferred.
  • Experience with MRP systems and Microsoft office applications, primarily Word and Excel. NetSuite knowledge a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

Preferred

  • ASCM Certification preferred. If certification is not in place progress towards this will be required.
