Responsibilities

  • Operates the front-end loader in a safe and efficient manner; performs shift safety checks on loader and re-fueling as required
  • Knowledge of the raw material processing flow and able to troubleshoot problems as they occur
  • Operates the forklift in a safe and efficient manner; performs shift safety checks as required
  • Performs quality checks on raw material production, logging analyses, and taking action when there is an issue
  • Monitors and coordinates bulk dust operations
  • Conduct Rate Checks and Gradation Checks on sifting equipment
  • Inspects sifting equipment boots, hoses, etc., and changes as needed to prevent dust and material leaks
  • Performs routine visual inspections of equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Takes raw material tank readings and operates sifting equipment to maintain proper levels to support the furnace operations
  • Maintains accurate logs and electronically documents related to cullet/grinding activities
  • Routinely monitors environmental conditions in the plant and takes appropriate investigative & corrective actions as needed
  • Assists furnace operator as required to help achieve departmental goals
  • Assists with maintenance activities in the Grinding/Furnace Dept
  • Troubleshoot or diagnose equipment issues in the Grinding/Furnace Dept
  • Perform minor maintenance and greasing operations on plant equipment
  • Operates the sweeper in a safe and efficient manner; performs shift safety checks as required
  • Monitors dryer operations and gas rates to ensure the process is operating efficiently
  • Performs appropriate shift change communication to ensure the operation continuously operates safe and efficiently

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 3 years of Manufacturing Environment Experience preferred
  • Operational Experience with production machinery/equipment preferred
  • 1 to 3 years forklift operations and/or certification preferred
  • Ability to use computer - Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word/Access
  • Works well with others - Good Teamwork skills
  • Strong Work ethics

Hours are a Rolling 4-On & 4-Off schedule; Dayshift 7 AM-7PM and Night Shift 7PM-7AM - Glenn said $24.11 $1.00 Night Shift Differential still applicable

The Operations Technician I - Assists furnace operator in monitoring manufacturing machines/equipment pertaining to furnacing and grinding activities. They also perform additional duties assigned as required/tasked.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Performs glass pile dressing and loads cullet into the plant shredder system

Removes contamination revealed in glass pile to prevent equipment plug-up and quality issues - reports significant issues to management or lead operator

Operates the front-end loader in a safe and efficient manner; performs shift safety checks on loader and re-fueling as required

Knowledge of the raw material processing flow and able to trouble shoot problems as they occur

Operates the forklift in a safe and efficient manner; performs shift safety checks as required

Performs quality checks on raw material production, logging analyses, and taking action when there is a issue

Assists with maintenance activities in the Grinding/Furnace Dept

Troubleshoot or diagnose equipment issues in the Grinding/Furnace Dept

Perform minor maintenance and greasing operations on plant equipment

Operates the sweeper in a safe and efficient manner; performs shift safety checks as required

Performs appropriate shift change communication to ensure the operation continuously operates safe and efficiently

Operates within the grinding/furnace department in a manner intended to meet goals in safety, environment, quality, production and cost control.

Supports lead operator, supervisor, maintenance, and plant personal as team member

Completes assigned housekeeping duties

Participates in plant wide Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality activities

Operates in compliance with all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education: Minimum High school diploma or GED

Post High School Technical School or College a Plus

Experience:

1 to 3 years of Manufacturing Environment Experience preferred

Operational Experience with production machinery/equipment preferred

1 to 3 years forklift operations and/or certification preferred

Skills & Knowledge:

Ability to use computer - Microsoft Outlook/Excel/Word/Access

Works well with others - Good Teamwork skills

Strong Work ethics
