Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, Business or related field from an accredited university or college; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR business partnership experience.
  • Solid knowledge of US employment law.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to gather and analyze information objectively and skillfully.
  • Proven experience supporting an organization through transformation.
  • Experience providing coaching and feedback to leaders and employees at all levels of the organization.

Your role and responsibilities

ABB is seeking an HR Business Partner for the Electrification Smart Power Division, the Power Protection US Sales, Service and Project Execution organization as well as a cross-division Commercial Operations function. Specifically, this role will provide strategic and operational HR expertise and guidance in the areas of HR & business strategy, culture change, organization design, leadership coaching, succession/pipeline planning, talent assessment/engagement. You will establish credibility as a strategic partner, playing a consultative role to employees, managers, and leaders to manage growth. This position reports dually to business and HR leaders. This role is specifically supporting two areas, the Electrification Smart Power hosted Commercial Operations team and the Power Protection US Sales, Service, and Project Execution organization. This position will be able to work remotely within the US, with a preference for candidates located near ABB Locations including Cary, NC, Richmond, VA, and Atlanta, GA. (#LI-Remote). You will be mainly accountable for: - Serving as the first point of contact for employees & managers and provide leadership, coaching and support for individual employee needs & HR processes (including but not limited to: annual Performance Development Appraisal (PDA), People Review Session (PRS), annual salary review..). Lead and manage HR projects & initiatives; provide outstanding customer service to client groups. - Providing expertise and guidance in all areas of organization support, including: Strategic HR partnership with the Business Leaders and his/her direct reports to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives. - Partnering with leaders, managers and talent partners on workforce planning, hiring, and headcount management. Specific focus on diversity, consistent with ABB's commitments to expand our diversity footprint. - Managing hands-on HR systems transactions, audit & reporting, ultimately with a focus on strategically leveraging data to drive insights & decisions. Note: ABB US is currently migrating multiple HRIS systems to Workday - initial scope will include focus on system migration.

Qualifications for the role

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, Business or related field from an accredited university or college; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR business partnership experience (preferably in a large, matrixed organization)
  • Solid knowledge of US employment law.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and ability to gather and analyze information objectively and skillfully.
  • Proven experience supporting an organization through transformation, including comfort with ambiguity and techniques to support change management.
  • Experience providing coaching and feedback to leaders and employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
