The Production Supervisor at Foster Farms is responsible for supervising all direct operations activity to meet daily production goals and company objectives in quality, service, cost, safety, and people.   • Train and monitor hourly employees, taking appropriate disciplinary action as required.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by training and conducting prompt and thorough accident investigations.
  • Provide timely feedback to immediate supervisor regarding problems with productivity, quality, safety, down time, and regulatory issues.
  • Manage his/her line to achieve company yield objectives.
  • Attend training as required, including Quality Control, Human Resources, etc.
  • Communicate with Inspectors or auditors in response to questions regarding plant procedures.
  • Ensure employees can perform mathematical skills for making partial batches, changing schedules, shift cut-offs, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor's Degree in business, a technical, or related discipline preferred, or applicable equivalent experience, preferably in the frozen food industry.
  • 3 years of food manufacturing experience, with two years in a shift management or production supervision role.
  • Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong mathematical background and ability to perform calculations on quality, productivity, time cards, reports, etc.
  • Strong leadership, decision making, and critical thinking skills and ability to act independently.
  • Ability to effectively plan, organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to evaluate employees fairly and objectively; strong human resource skills.
  • Ability to understand and deal effectively with massive regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems (i.e., Kronos, SAP, etc.).
  • Ability to work varying shifts and weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to stand on the production floor for varying amounts of time with or without accommodations.
  • Ability to submit and pass a criminal background check.

Job Description

Pay Range $68,700- $81,312 per year.

Responsible for supervising all direct operations activity to meet daily production goals and Company service, quality, cost, safety, and people objectives.

Plant Supervisor helps maintain and improve quality and food safety, to insure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.

All persons employed or associated with Foster Farms are responsible for the quality and food safety of company products. The food safety and quality policies are summarized and communicated at training sessions. Each new employee attends a food safety training session before beginning work. All employees attend a refresher training session at least once per year. Records are maintained reflecting attendance at the training sessions.

Essential Functions:
