The Inside Sales Specialist at Standard Supply & Distributing will support the outside sales team and branches by promoting and selling HVAC/R products and systems to meet or exceed company objectives. Responsibilities

  • Sells Heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, parts and supplies
  • Receives inbound telephone calls or emails and determines make, type and quality of merchandise desired
  • Discusses use and features of various parts; can articulate use of merchandise
  • Sales support, including entering orders, providing technical details, preparing pricing and quotations that meet technical specifications
  • Sell product to dealers and contractors over the telephone
  • Prepare job quotations/ approvals / submittals, follow up on status of open quotations and manage job quotes won
  • Uses computer for part stock number and prices. Advises customer on substitution or modification of part when replacement is not available
  • Uses computer database to research availability of merchandise. Fills customer orders from stock or prepares transfer from other location. Prepares sales order or quote order. Prepares special order purchase orders where applicable
  • Solicits new and established customers via telephone to promote sales
  • Resolves or alerts management regarding inventory issues or customer concerns
  • Conducts large cross references for new business / enters quotations
  • Prepares price books for established accounts as requested

Qualifications

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent customer service skills; ability to identify and sell to customer needs
  • Practical knowledge of warehouse, data processing, paper flow and operations procedures
  • Must possess the ability to mediate situations among employees and customers as they arise
  • Beginner to intermediate to advanced user of the Internet and Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Results driven with strong time management skills
  • Must be comfortable making telephone sales calls to establish a business relationship dialogue

About the Role

The Inside Sales Specialist - will provide sales support for the outside sales team and branches in promoting and selling HVAC/r products and systems to meet or exceed company objectives.
