The Counter Sales Representative at Porter Pipe & Supply assists customers at the will call counter by accurately entering orders, gathering material, and helping load the customer's vehicle.   • May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in locating supplies and equipment; may operate shrink wrap machine.
  • Loads and packs products onto customer vehicles.
  • Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, and continuous quality improvement objectives.
  • Operates fabrication equipment as needed.
  • Adheres to all Company safety rules, standards, and guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required

  • Experience using a Warehouse Software system (TWL or CSD preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of pipes, valves, and fittings.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Computer literate in all Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to effectively build rapport with both internal and external customers.
  • Positive attitude and ability to function both independently and in a team setting.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage time effectively.
  • Ability to communicate in English regarding the essential functions of the position.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Preferred

  • Previous SX Enterprise experience.
  • Point of sale computer experience.
  • Prior forklift experience.

Position Summary:

The Counter Sales Representative assists customers at the will call counter by accurately entering orders, gathering material, and helping load the customer's vehicle. You are expected to promote our complete line of products and increase company sales by developing strong customer relationships, resolving customer issues, and supporting marketing initiatives. You will be using technical knowledge of pipes, valves, and fittings to assist at the Will Call counter. The Counter Sales Representative provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers and demonstrates strict confidentiality with all team members while serving as an ambassador of our culture.

Essential Functions:
  • Makes product recommendations and assists customers with PVF products.
