Akkodis is seeking a Welding Engineer for a direct hire position with a client located in Chandler, Arizona.

Salary Range: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year


Welding Engineer job responsibilities include:

  • Primary responsibility will be to develop and qualify welding processes for new and existing products. This will involve parameter definition and optimization, as well as documentation. You will work closely with the New Product Development and Production teams to ensure that the welding processes meet our quality standards and comply with industry standards such as AWS D17.1, D17.2, and C7.4.
  • Another important aspect of this role is to defend our welding practices in customer audits. You will be responsible for ensuring that our welding processes and standards are in compliance with industry regulations and can withstand scrutiny from customers. Your expertise in welding and your ability to communicate complex technical content in a simplified manner will be crucial in this aspect of the role.
  • This position will play a key role in training and certifying Quality In-Process Weld Inspectors. This will involve developing and delivering training programs on welding inspection techniques, codes, and standards. You will also be responsible for evaluating inspector competency through practical examinations and ensuring their adherence to industry certifications.
  • In addition to training and certifying inspectors, you will leverage your expertise as a mentor to educate the rest of our engineering community on sound weld practices, joint design, and definition. Your strong analytical skills and practical application of Design of Experiments will be invaluable in teaching them how to develop and optimize welding processes.
