The Technical Sales Engineer’s decisions and actions will impact the customer, departmental colleagues, and foreign subsidiary colleagues.

  • Confirm and clarify scope of supply for sales proposals of spare parts and small projects.

The candidate must have an intermediate technical knowledge of the breadth of long products rolling equipment and processes in the steel industry. Well-rounded technical knowledge shall be applied to highly varied equipment and processes to identify where Danieli products and/or services could be proposed to good effect.

Other Requirements:

  • Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support and liaison.
  • Support foreign colleagues from Headquarter during technical and commercial negotiations, quickly reporting to the HQ in Italy.
  • Maintain, develop, and update customer database.
  • Monitor and report on activities and provide relevant management information from marketplace, including competitor information.
  • Liaise and attend meetings with customers world-wide to promote and explain the technical solutions and philosophies.
  • Attend commercial negotiation meetings with customers world-wide, adhering to agreed company pricing policy.
  • Plan and manage the effective and necessary conversion of weights, sizes, values, and quality standards interpretations between various systems and territories.
  • Manage language and communications translation issues and activities as necessary to enable effective communications.
  • Monitor order execution and progress, with the capability to make concise decisions when required by stringent timelines.
  • Submit timesheet, expenses, and customer report within 3 business days, all reports will follow company guidelines.
  • Use any data systems supplied by company for time and expense reporting.
  • Successful candidate may be subject to both inside and outside environmental work conditions, exposed to elevated noise levels and extreme heat and cold.
  • Physical hazards may include close proximity to moving parts, hot surfaces, pinch points, sparks, sharp edges, high pressure air, oxygen and gas lines.
  • Successful candidate must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Successful candidate must submit to a criminal background check.
