SMX is seeking a Business Analyst to join our State and Local team, supporting a Honolulu, HI based team with occasional travel. This remote position is based in Hawaii or an option may exist for a western US-based position with travel to Hawaii. The role involves translating business needs into technical objectives by gathering user requirements, developing recommendations for implementation, and identifying solutions to satisfy the business need. The successful candidate will work closely with clients and project teams, participate in testing and other application support activities, and communicate business needs across various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Understand business processes and interpret them to define requirements, analyze current as-is processes and conceptualize to-be requirements.
  • Support the development of detailed stakeholder reports, user requirements, user stories, and test plans, test scenarios and test cases.
  • Support solution developers and business subject matter experts with documentation of functional and technical processes and system workflows using Lucid.
  • Develop detailed process maps and business process procedure documentation.
  • Develop system training plans and catalogs; conduct training sessions with customers.
  • Analyze data and draw conclusions from the data as it relates to business processes, stakeholders, and system users.
  • Develop Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word documentation.
  • Work with subject matter experts to define performance measures and collection methodology.
  • Support project management activity including metric analysis, process analysis, system analysis, measuring success, and stakeholder and leadership reporting.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree required. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Experience with case management systems, preferably in the Health and Human services area.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional, Agile or Scrum Master Certification, or Certified Product Owner is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) is desired.
