SMX is seeking a Business Analyst to join our State and Local team.This is a remote positionbased in Hawaii.An optionmay exist for a westernUS-based position withtravel to Hawaii.TheBusiness Analystwilltranslate business needs into technicalobjectivesby gathering user requirements, developing recommendations for implementation, andidentifyingsolutions to satisfy the business need.Successful candidateswill have experience reporting project status to management including risks, issues, and key decisions.You willunderstand the overall direction and nuanced user needs clearly, andyou willwork to communicate business needs across various stakeholders.This role willparticipateintesting and other application support activities, as well, andwill work closely with clients and project teams. This role is remote supporting a Honolulu, HI based team with occasional travel.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities:**

+ Understand business processes and interpret them to define requirements, analyze current as-is processes and conceptualize to-be requirements.

+ Support the development of detailed stakeholder reports, user requirements, user stories, and test plans, test scenarios and test cases.

+ Support solution developers and business subject matter experts with documentation of functional and technical processes and system workflows using Lucid.

+ Develop detailed process maps and business process procedure documentation.

+ Develop system training plans and catalogs; conduct training sessions with customers.

+ Analyze data and draw conclusions from the data as it relates to business processes, stakeholders, and system users.

+ Develop Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Word documentation.

+ Work with subject matter experts to define performance measures and collection methodology.

+ Support project management activity including metric analysis, process analysis, system analysis, measuring success, and stakeholder and leadership reporting.

**Required Skills/Experience:**

+ Bachelor's degree required. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

+ 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst.

+ Experience with case management systems, preferably in the Health and Human services area.

+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.

**Preferred Skills/Experience:**

- Certified Business Analysis Professional, Agile or Scrum Master Certification, or Certified Product Owner is a plus.

- Knowledge and experience with the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) is desired.
