As an Administrative/Technical Specialist in the Security Department of the Naval Sea Systems Command, you will provide technical assistance, guidance, and oversight for all security disciplines at the Seal Beach site. Responsibilities

  • Support site personnel in completion of isolated personnel reports (ISOPREP), manage foreign visitors, conduct ATFP exercises, and provide assistance for communications security (COMSEC) and arms, ammunition, and explosives programs.
  • Develop and establish security procedures for the site for protection of individuals, groups, and property.
  • Develop and implement specific guidelines to meet localized requirements.
  • Confer with the NSWC PHO Activity Security Manager, Assistant ASMs, Offsite Security Team Lead, and discipline Program Managers to determine need for program application, formulate program execution, and coordinate compliance.
  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, implement, and monitor the effectiveness of the operation of the security programs at NSWC PHO Seal Beach.
  • Partner internally and externally with government and industry to provide coordinated services and maximize effectiveness.
  • Provide advice and assistance to others and maintain productive working relationships.
  • Ensure that access to classified information is limited to appropriately cleared personnel with a need-to-know.
  • Ensure that threats to security and security incidents pertaining to classified information and controlled unclassified information are reported, recorded, and coordinated with the proper authorities.
  • Ensure that incidents involving the loss of compromise of classified material are immediately referred to the cognizant investigative authority.
  • Ensure personnel complete specialized training and briefings based on specific duties or responsibilities.
  • Oversee the key and lock program to include security containers, combinations, keys, and open storage spaces.
  • Manage access control system (ACS) and intrusion detection system (IDS) for site buildings.

Qualifications

Required

  • At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower pay band, NT-03 (GS-09/10 equivalency), in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.
  • Experience overseeing and coordinating security services to ensure compliance and risk mitigation through planning, implementation, and oversight of security measures and systems.
  • Possession of an LL.M. if related to this position being filled, or a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience.
