Tanaq Support Services is seeking a Mid-level Web Developer for a fully remote role, based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in the U.S., to support website and digital media management for government clients. Responsibilities

Qualifications

Required

  • Prior experience at Federal Health Agency or similar client strongly preferred.

  • Experience providing support for front-end, static, and interactive data visualizations managed from within the WCMS primarily using D3.js.

**Overview**

Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, technology, and other government services. TSS is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation (SGT), an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders.

**About the Role**

We are seeking an exceptionally talented and motivated individual for the position of **Web Developer** (Mid-level) to support website and digital media management of our government clients website. These digital assets must be monitored and continuously updated. Web requests may vary month-to-month and year-to-year, with spikes in requests at one time and leveling off at another time. The Web Developer will be expected to manage competing priorities with technical monitors while providing a high level of service quality across all webpages. The Web Developer will work with a senior-level Web Developer to support web development, programming support for advanced web products, usability support, and metrics analysis for the website.

This is a fully remote position that can be based in Atlanta, GA or anywhere in the U.S.

**Responsibilities**

Website Production Support

+ Provide day-to-day maintenance of websites using standard Web Content Management System (WCMS) and integrated web templates. Update websites using web software applications, techniques, and tools using web-based technologies and languages such as Extensible Markup Language (XML), Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML)/HTML5, JavaScript (JS)/jQuery, Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)/CSS3, Adobe Photoshop, Axure and other web development and design-related applications. Ensure each page displays correctly in all view ports and is cross-browser and mobile device compatible to support responsive web design. Support design efforts to enhance the look and feel of the organization's online offerings and upgrade website(s) to support organization strategies and goals relative to external and internal communications. Develop editorial calendars for home pages and features. Ensure that pages comply with all Federal, standards and guidelines. Follow style guides for each site to ensure the usability of the site. Regularly produce and review orphan pages, broken links and other site reports used to improve the quality of the Website.

+ Managed web content should be appropriately marked up, tagged/coded and maintained for search engine optimization and Social Media sharing, used by Section 508/WCAG compliance.

+ Provide graphic design and editing capabilities related to digital channels, with the ability to create and edit graphics and photos using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks, and other design-related applications including, but not limited to, webpages and website graphics, fact sheets, templates for information dissemination, infographics, social media graphics, animated videos, flow charts, logos, brochures, training materials, forms flyers and presentations. Ensure images/graphics are optimized for the image type and digital channel (for example: image size, image resolution, file size, and file format). Ensure all images meet 508/Web Content Accessibility (WCAG) guidelines for color contrast, luminosity, color blindness, etc., with the ability to check images for compliance using industry standard and approved software tools.

+ Ensure all sites, and their content (including images and PDFs) remain 508 compliant. Regularly run and/or review 508-related reporting and remediate any issues found. Ensure all PDFs are remediated using approved software tools such as Adobe Acrobat Professional.

+ Assist the team and leadership with web production issues. Act on and respond to e-mails related to web production. Participate in meetings, provide web updates during meetings, and respond to web-related questions and requests. Consult with teams on website updates. Remain current on Agency's best practices, standards, and technologies (such as WCMS template releases and new functionality) by regularly reviewing the information found on Agency Intranet, attending Agency related meetings ("State of the Web," WCMS 75D30121C11011 00003 Page 20 of 23. Template Release, etc.). Provide consultation to Division as needed on requirements. Serve as "on call" when needed to support division web requests, occasionally after hours and with quick turnaround as needed.

+ Maintain the site taxonomy by monitoring new content, creating new tags as directed by the agency, and ensuring new content meets taxonomy requirements.

+ Provide web content support for sites by providing strong quality assurance of new web pages and redesigned sites, assisting in assuring new content is provided in a digital first format, leveraging plain language best practices, coordinating efforts closely with team, and making good decisions on tagging and file naming conventions.

+ Provide support for front-end and back-end web development, including designing, developing, troubleshooting, debugging, and implementing web software code. Designing and building web pages using WordPress, HTML, and CSS. Static and interactive data visualizations are managed from within the WCMS primarily using D3.js. Data visualizations may be displayed on the website and mobile, in widgets, microsites, mobile applications, or any supported digital communication channel. Ensure all data visualizations are fully Section 508 compliant.

+ Provide web design and user experience support to ensure that all websites: follow Web Council standards and guidance; incorporate appropriate information architectures; have highly functional web user interface design; follow Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices; and incorporate user experience best practices. Provide web site monitoring to include digital first, quality assurance, accessibility, SEO, response, and compliance with polices and standards. Be familiar with web content standards, plain language, proofreading and copyediting practices to provide quality control and ensure all content meets established content standards. Use approved web tools to check and validate the page code, checking multiple viewpoints, and ensure the quality of our web sites using the Site QA Review Process.

+ Provide web metrics and analytics support for websites using Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics, and other web metrics tools. Create and run reports and dashboards in tools to monitor and analyze web traffic, user behavior (pathing, etc.), and meet stakeholder needs. Ensure metrics report comply with existing naming conventions and are stored in compliance with HHS guidelines. Create and maintain metrics tagging spreadsheets (Excel, etc.) and SAINT files for uploading into Adobe Analytics for digital channel tracking. Work with Division communication team and other Vendors, as needed, to ensure ongoing digital tracking functionality (testing, etc.).

+ Assist in maintaining internal management tools and forms used to manage web requests, projects, and reporting tools such as SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
