  • Ensure proper training, development, and evaluation of hourly team members.
  • Lead Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS) processes and serve as a resource supporting launch and pilot activities.
  • Maintain good working relationships with employees, union, and management.
  • Administer collective bargaining agreements and company policies.
  • Model cultural behaviors and demonstrate integrity.
  • Achieve safety, people, quality, responsiveness, and cost key performance indicators.
  • Cultivate a safety culture and enforce workplace safety rules.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as timekeeping and maintain departmental records.
  • Support Production's ability to 'Build in Station' to meet production cost schedules.
  • Utilize inventory controls and follow up.
  • Coordinate operational changes with Production.
  • Manage scrap appropriately and timely.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement using tools such as layered audits.
  • Resolve issues working cross-functionally to closure.

Full Job Description

**Description:**

As a Production Supervisor/Group Leader, you are responsible for the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment. Participates in the training, developing and evaluating of hourly team members. Participates in the development of highly effective teams. Leads Global Manufacturing Systems(GMS) processes and serves as resource supporting launch and pilot activities in assigned areas. Meets or exceeds production cost schedule and maintains quality requirements. Maintains awareness of quality standards, and communicates department quality goals, and leverages resources to solve quality issues. Builds and maintains good working relationships with employees, union and management. Understands and consistently administer the National and Local Agreements between Company and the United Auto Workers Union. Implements and follows systems that prevent reoccurrence of known issues. Promote safe work practices and achieve objectives for ergonomics, health and safety and housekeeping. Motivates, trains and develops employees to effectively perform their jobs utilizing standardized methods. Ensure team members receive adequate JIT (job instruction training). Achieve production schedules and product requirements by applying lean manufacturing/synchronous principles with emphasis on variation reduction, control costs, and achieve productivity improvements. Coach, teach, counsel and mentor team members in these responsibilities.

- Achieve Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, and Cost key performance indicators supporting production.

- Cultivate a safety culture, and implement and enforce workplace safety rules and policies, including ergonomics, health and safety, and good housekeeping.

- Complete administrative tasks such as timekeeping and maintains departmental records and reports.

- Meet production cost schedules by supporting Production's ability to 'Build in Station."

- Maintain delivery methods for all operational material systems.

- Utilize appropriate inventory controls and follow up.

- Coordinate operational changes with Production.

- Manage scrap appropriately and timely.

- Identify opportunities for improvement using tools such as layered audits.

- Resolve issues working cross-functionally to closure.

- Performs all other duties as assigned.
