- Assists in training and research work activity for assigned laboratory and research personnel.
- Supervises general laboratory management including the use of laboratory equipment and implements safety procedures.
- Maintain active lab notes with duties and assignments performed
- Inventory the chemical room, -20C and -80C freezers as well as the 4C fridge to maintain current records of reagents
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
- Three years of experience in scientific or experimental research work.
Preferred
- Master's degree in one of the natural sciences or related field.
- Experience with mouse work, tissue culture techniques, and flow cytometry.

**SUMMARY**
Genetics (https://www.mdanderson.org/research/departments-labs-institutes/departments-divisions/genetics.html) is a basic science department located in the George and Cynthia Mitchell Basic Sciences Research Building at the world-renowned University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in the heart of the Texas Medical Center (https://www.tmc.edu/) . The focus is on advancing knowledge of the molecular genetic mechanisms that regulate normal and abnormal cellular processes.
The Sr. Research Assistant provides supervision, special training to technical personnel and/or highly technical work in medical and related research projects. This position impacts laboratory research techniques, production and procedures.
**The ideal candidate will have experience with mouse work, tissue culture techniques, and flow cytometry.**
**KEY FUNCTIONS**
