Southcoast Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join their Urgent Care team.   • Responsible for telephone communication with patients including communication of test results, surgery schedules, procedures and providing appropriate counsel and follow-up under the direction of a designated supervisor.
  • Utilize an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other related software to update and/or access patient information, as appropriate.
  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Provide medical interpretation in a language other than English for the practice office, if fluent in a language other than English.

Qualifications

Required

  • Equal to completion of four years of high school or equivalent plus specialized courses and training.
  • National third-party certification, such as AMCA, AAMA, AMT, CCMA (NHA certification), or NCMA (NCCT certification) is required within thirteen (13) months of hire as a non-certified Medical Assistant.
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program, or equivalent medical office practice experience.
  • BLS certification.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired

Preferred

  • Prior experience in using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and/or health-related computer software.
  • One (1) year of medical assistance work experience.
  • Fluent in a language other than English and Medical Interpreting.
  • Other certifications, based on practice specialty.

We are searching for a talented Certified Medical Assistant to work in our Urgent Care!

Hours: 40hrs

Shift: Day/Evening Shift. (2)12hr (1) 8hr shift Mon-Fri 8:00am-8:30pm. Every Other weekend required Sat&Sun 9:00am-5:30pm

Location: Urgent Care. This position will be required to float and provide coverage to several Urgent Care locations regularly. These locations include: Fall River, Dartmouth, Seekonk, Lakeville, Fairhaven, and Wareham. Generally assigned 1-2 sites but could cover any sites based on department needs.
