The Program Manager, Health & Wellness at Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee is responsible for the day-to-day management of the program, supervising all program staff, and ensuring the implementation of program delivery in a high-quality and timely manner.   • Perform a review of program materials annually and update accordingly.
  • Manage and oversee grant-related expenditures and other program deliverables.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of Greater Milwaukee-related networks and maintain community visibility.
  • Provide administrative program support including scheduling, planning events, and document preparation.
  • Order office supplies, maintain inventory, and inspect program supplies.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all issues and incidents related to membership/program participant management.
  • Adhere to loss control and risk management programs and report accidents and losses immediately.
  • Work non-traditional hours occasionally.
  • Write management reports to ensure program goals are met and oversee performance measurement system.
  • Oversee the Community Advisory Group, the Youth Leadership Council, and parent engagement programming.
  • Conduct virtual meetings, programs, and sessions as needed.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Health, Sociology, Social Work, Human Service and/or Education.
  • At least two years of experience in public speaking, teaching/grant facilitation, and working with community-based organizations and youth.
  • At least three years of program management and implementation experience.
  • Experience in coordinating program implementation including personnel supervision and recruitment.
  • At least three years of experience in the delivery of youth work and youth-led programming for young people between the ages of 4-18.
  • CPR Certification (Adult, Child, and Infant) preferred or attend and successfully complete certification within the first six months of employment.

Job Summary:

Responsible for the day-to-day management of the program and supervising all program staff. Organize, direct, and supervise the implementation of program delivery, including staffing, program scheduling, workflow, building access, and program implementation space needs.

Grant Funded: Temporary position; continuation of employment is contingent upon renewal of grant.

Responsibilities:
  • Work effectively and maintain a positive professional relationship with program staff, club staff, and community partners to ensure program deliverables are met in high quality and timely manner.
  • Train, monitor, and observe all program facilitators. Provide professional development opportunities and performance improvement training for staff and program partners.
  • Assist in program evaluation, maintain accurate documentation, and use reporting tools for monitoring and tracking accountabilities related to program implementation according to the needs of the funding agencies, while meeting all deadlines.
  • Monitors performance against established work plan. Oversees continuous performance improvement, including observations, fidelity monitoring, ongoing professional development, and training.
  • Generate accurate and detailed monthly, quarterly, and/or annual reports.
  • Ensure compliance for program contracts including those with community partners, and private and public funders.
  • Implement program events to recruit new participants, reward existing frequent attendees, and provide community networking opportunities with other youth-serving programs.

  • Work non-traditional hours occasionally (some evenings and weekends).
  • Writes management reports to ensure that program goals are met, including objectives, activities, and clients served. Oversees performance measurement system to ensure data is collected and entered into the reporting system. This position will oversee the Community Advisory Group, the Youth Leadership Council, and parent engagement programming.
  • Must participate in required training by the Club, County, State, and/or funders. Responsible for monitoring staff training requirements and ensuring staff attends required training.
  • Conduct virtual meetings, programs, and sessions as needed.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Health, Sociology, Social Work, Human Service and/or Education required.

Experience Requirements:

At least two years of experience in public speaking, teaching/grant facilitation, and experience and comfort level working with representatives from agencies, community-based organizations, and youth.
  • At least three years of program management and implementation experience.
  • Experience in coordinating program implementation including personnel supervision, and recruitment.
  • At least three years of proven experience in the delivery of youth work and youth work-led programming for young people between the ages of 4-18.
  • CPR Certification (Adult, Child, and Infant) preferred or attend and successfully complete certification within the first six months of employment.

Skills:
  • Elevated level of creativity and problem-solving ability. Demonstrated examples of managing through crisis.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to utilize Excel and agency software for tracking budgets and attendance. Ability to learn and utilize modern technologies and apply technology to communication, organization, and other key job tasks.
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with other team members, school personnel, community providers, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to, comfortably and without judgment, communicate about sensitive subjects related to sexual and reproductive health with youth and parents.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, secure personal information, and comply with mandated reporting requirements.
  • Must have a valid WI driver's license, good driving record, and meets state-required automobile insurance minimums.
