Description

Job Overview: To lead and direct the routine daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff and enforcing company policies and practices. This role will help to ensure that new hires adjust to their work environment, while following the compliant hiring procedures as required by OPWDD and the DOL laws. This position will also help to ensure an environment of safety and open communication, and welcome discussion about any matter of importance to an employee.

Essential Responsibilities:

All responsibilities outlined below are applicable within the assigned region(s):
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department in their region, and provides support and guidance as it relates to recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and employee relations.
  • Collaborates with the department managers and Director of HR on a consistent basis, to understand and execute the organizations human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Participates in the interview and hiring process of the qualified candidates and potential new hires and for promotions
  • Ensures that the onboarding process meets the standards of OPWDD and TCC compliance and is being handled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensures that new staff are prepared and ready to begin their employment with TCC and communicates this information with the relevant departments.
  • Oversees the process of performance reviews and works with the department managers to ensure completion in a timely manner.
  • Oversees the process of employee status change requests and employee promotions.
  • Works with the department managers to assist and prepare for the process of discipline and terminations.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Ensures that the correct company templates and documents are used for all HR related processes. This includes but is not limited to interviews, references, employee status changes, disciplinary forms etc.
  • Assists with the implementation of new processes and initiatives to support the organizations human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of HR related trainings and/or HR presence at relevant trainings for the workforce, Assists with escalated employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Provides support and guidance to management, and other staff when complex, and sensitive questions and issues arise, such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation into the electronic employee files for accurate record keeping.
  • Assists with the monitoring of compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices, as it relates to HR, within the assigned region. This may include timely auditing of new and existing HR personnel files/records, etc.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with established policies, procedures, and the industry standard
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by CEO or relevant senior leadership
  • Participate in mandatory meetings as deemed necessary by supervisor
