Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Development Director(s), other product leaders, and key stakeholders to execute the strategy for the products.
  • Own the user experience associated with the product areas under management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of users' needs and become an expert in the customers and users of the product.
  • Ensure that product initiatives are aligned and integrated with the overall vision and roadmap.
  • Recommend business-building opportunities, including product enhancements, interface improvements, business development ideas, marketing tactics, etc.
  • Participate in discovery processes to identify, evaluate and define features and functionality.
  • Support Business Product Owners in creating clear, concise, and complete user stories.
  • Collaborate with Design, Development, QA and other team members to ensure releases deliver defined functionality.
  • Measure and communicate performance against product KPIs.
  • Assist with training stakeholders on new features and functionality.
  • Prepare documentation of procedures, processes, and product features.
  • Work with Product Development Director and other key stakeholders to own responsibility for product areas.
  • Bring innovation to bear on the company's products and their ability to serve customers/users.
  • Evaluate partner/competitor activities and make recommendations based on observations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 or more years of digital product management experience
  • 2 or more years of experience with AGILE development methodologies
  • Experience in insurance, warranty, managed services, or mobile/wireless industry is a plus
  • Experience in B2B SAAS and/or API-first businesses preferred
  • Experience in gathering detailed product requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
  • Relentless desire for innovation balanced with customer expectations
  • Excellent creativity, innovation, management and organizational skills
  • Action orientation; demonstrated ability to translate market and customer feedback into products and features
  • Metrics and outcome driven; experience in using data and metrics to back up assumptions and assertions of customer and business value

Preferred

  • Technical fluency; comfortable discussing tradeoffs and new opportunities with technical team members
  • Proven ability to make sound recommendations that balance feature (customer experience) versus time-to-market trade-offs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; proven ability to guide cross-functional teams through influence versus direct management
  • Superb follow-through, problem-solving and communications skills
  • Professional with mature business judgment and strong collaborative style
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with Aha, ADO, Jira, Confluence, and/or other similar tools

Full Job Description

Reporting to the Product Development Director, the Associate Product Manager will support the continued growth and scaling of the and Deposits and Renters Solutions platforms.

The Associate Product Manager is responsible for developing and executing the roadmap for one or more product areas including lifecycle management, leading ideation and innovation, and delivering performance through a cross-functional team.

The Associate Product Manager must ensure that their product areas deliver customer and business value and work with their Product Development Director and other product leaders to ensure that the value is well articulated, communicated, and understood by both customers and internal stakeholders.

This role requires high energy, a positive attitude and a team player mentality. Strong communication skills, project management, research, organizational and analytical problem-solving skills are essential.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
  • Collaborate with your Product Development Director(s), other product leaders, and key stakeholders throughout the organization to execute the strategy for the products you work on.
  • Own the user experience associated with the product areas under your management.
  • Develop a deep understanding of users' needs and become an expert in the customers and users of the product you work on.
  • Ensure that your product initiatives are aligned and integrated with the overall vision and roadmap for your products.
  • Recommend business-building opportunities, including product enhancements, interface improvements, business development ideas, marketing tactics, etc.
  • Participate in rich discovery processes, including market opportunities, user/customer research and prototyping to identify, evaluate and define features and functionality that are valuable to your users.
  • As applicable, support Business Product Owners in creating clear, concise, and complete user stories; grow and refine product backlog working with your Product Development Director(s) to prioritize against short- and long-term value delivery.
  • Collaborate with Design, Development, QA and other team members throughout product definition and project delivery to ensure releases deliver defined functionality.
  • Measure and communicate performance against product KPIs.
  • Assist with training stakeholders, including Operations and Sales / Business Development, on new features and functionality.
  • Prepare documentation of procedures, processes, and product features, as necessary to contribute to the overall knowledge base and understanding of the products you work on.
  • Work with your Product Development Director and other key stakeholders, taking direction as appropriate, but ultimately owning responsibility for your product areas.
  • Bring innovation to bear on the company's products and their ability to serve customers/users.
  • Evaluate partner/competitor activities and make recommendations based on your observations and understanding of relevant markets.

What are the requirements needed for this position?
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2 or more years of digital product management experience with proven, measurable success in developing and expanding products preferred.
  • 2 or more years of experience with AGILE development methodologies.
  • Experience in insurance, warranty, managed services, or mobile/wireless industry is a plus.
  • Experience in B2B SAAS and/or API-first businesses preferred.

How much should I expect to travel?

There will be minimal travel for team meetings.

Pay Range:
$71,300.00 - $119,100.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
