  • Learn to read and track a project budget
  • Organize scopes of work and obtain bids from subcontractors
  • Plan review and takeoff for project quantification

Qualifications

Required

  • Currently enrolled in a construction management degree program preferred
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Ability to lift and/or carry over 50+ pounds on a periodic basis
  • Ability to push/pull over 50+ pounds on a periodic basis
  • Ability to stand and/or walk at least eight hours per day
  • Ability to work and adapt to outside temperature fluctuations

Description

Our internship program provides real world construction management experience. This experience will provide an opportunity to learn first-hand the world of general contracting.

Requirements

Field
  • Assists with Daily Reports o Sub Progress o Sub Issues o Overall Job Progress
  • Assists with Inventory Control o Maintain and update site inventory catalog
  • Gain understanding of plans and specs o Familiarize with plans and specs o Understand Job Progression
  • General Housekeeping o Project Cleanliness
  • Exposed to Safety standards
    • Familiarize with OSHA requirements
    • Familiarize with MYCON requirements
    • Familiarize with Lock Out/Tag Out
    • Familiarize with Fall Protection
    • Familiarize with Tech Safety
    • Exposure and understanding of SWPPP
    • Familiarize with SWPPP Specs
    • Familiarize with state and city SWPPP requirements

Project Management
  • Schedule
    • Develop an understanding of project schedule logic
    • Assist in project updating
  • Contracts (Owner and subcontractor)
    • Familiarize with contract structure
    • Familiarize with contract language
  • Logs
    • Assists with and update RFI Logs
    • Assists with update submittal logs
  • Budget

Estimating (as applicable)
  • Project Bidding o Transmission of Addenda, revisions and changes to potential subcontractors o Incorporate changes into plan set and specs o Familiarize with the FRI process for bidding projects
  • Bid Prep o Organizing Scopes of Work o Obtain bids from subcontractors
  • Project Quantification o Plan Review o Plan Takeoff
    • Familiarize with estimating software

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail required.
  • The ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously and an accurate and timely manner.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
