POSITION PURPOSE:The
Intern is responsible for carrying out operations for the marina. The Intern's primary responsibility is learning as much information as possible during the duration of the internship. Gain experience in marina operations by observing multiple facets of business, such as scheduling, financial reporting, sales training, inventory control and retail management. The Intern projects a professional company image through all types of interaction. As this is a fast pace environment, must be able to work under pressure.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Learn and shadow all aspects of running a Marina
- Work closely with the General Manager
- Gain understanding of AP/AR by working directly with the Marina Administrator
- Performs opening and closing job duties
- Report stock levels of guest, retail and office supplies to the Marina Administrator.
- Must be proactive in anticipating the guest's needs.
- May have to operate cash register depending on the marina
- Assists with black water pump out, waste disposal and facility sanitation
- Fuels boats at the marina fuel dock
- Maintains awareness of safety issues and reports them immediately to supervisor
- Other duties as assigned by management
OPERATING RESPONSIBILITIES:Work performed and composed of a variety of different tasks, calling for the use of sound judgment; and compliance with policies and procedures. Must be a self-starter and be able to work in a team environment to achieve team, department and company goals.
Assists with a number of projects at one time and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of customers.
QUALIFICATIONS:- Must currently be enrolled in a University, preferably pursing a Management, Hospitality, or other related degree program.
- Excellent customer service skills - known as someone who goes above and beyond
- Must have a positive attitude
- Must have highly effective communication skills and time management skills
- Must be able to maintain a calm, positive attitude during periods of high activity
- Ability to manage multiple project simultaneously
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Basic water safety skills
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to work flexible hours on the needs of the property
- General accounting knowledge and basic understanding of financial statements;
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms;
The employee is frequently required to stand, climb ladders and walk on even and un-even surfaces;
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
