Responsibilities

• Oversees and coordinates quality control activities and assures conforming product is processed timely meeting delivery expectations.
• Actively participate in IPTs and FMEAs.
• Supports our customer quality audits and participate in internal quality audits.
• Participates in new product development and failure investigations.
• Use Lean Manufacturing tools to improve quality and reduce defects.
• Provide effective RCCA as required.
• Interface and communicate effectively with a variety of personnel in support of production including operators, quality engineers, inspectors, shop floor supervisors, program managers, project engineers and design engineers.
• Interface with suppliers and customers concerning program quality requirements.
• Provides leadership and direction to inspection and calibration personnel
• Oversees and coordinates activities to balance workload and achieve SQDC performance targets.
• Oversee and coordinate inspection requirements in support of in-house machining.

Qualifications

Required

• BS/MS in science or engineering discipline, preferably mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
• 5+ years of experience in quality inspection
• Working knowledge of ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems
• Production floor experience, including a solid understanding of GD&T
• Experience in root cause/corrective and preventative action
• Machined parts inspection background
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite software
• Significant experience in Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement

Preferred

• CMM Programming & troubleshooting skills
• 5+ years of experience with PCDMIS
