Responsibilities

The Senior Financial Analyst manages the budget and instated cost reports as well as:

  • Schedules, organizes and implements the annual hospital budget process, guidelines and worksheets for departments.
  • Provides technical assistance to departments for budget preparations, and when appropriate, assists in the financial evaluation/assessment of new programs/services.
  • Analyzes hospital revenue in relation to Volume Indicators and Payor Mix.
  • Assist in the preparation, completion and filing of third party cost reports, regulatory agency reports and internal reports.
  • Assist in ensure maximum third party reimbursement through strategic financial planning, familiarity with payor allowances/disallowances of costs and aggressive pursuit of cost reimbursement through settlement mechanisms.
  • Prepares for and responds to year-end audits by third party auditors.
  • Assist in audits by third party payors.
  • Assist in preparing various surveys for outside agencies.
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring state and local grants.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • Minimum of 2 years hospital reimbursement experience.
  • Ability to work independently
