The Business Systems Product Owner at Ambius is responsible for the business management and commercial success of Ambius technology products and services. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Help to build and manage an annual technology budget by prioritizing efforts based on costs, benefits, risks, and ROI projections.
  • Provide technical expertise for technology platforms in areas of operational sales support, customer engagement, and client project delivery.
  • Collaborate with IT business analysts and project teams to manage projects from inception to deployment.
  • Direct partners in key relationship positions on business priorities and long-term business goals.
  • Gain a deep understanding of internal and external customer experience to identify functional gaps and generate new ideas.
  • Act as an advocate for the product vision, building awareness internally and with partners.
  • Develop product pricing and positioning strategies.
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
  • Provide technical demonstrations of technology systems where required.
  • Write the business case for investments and gain internal approval.
  • Promote the product to sales teams through various mechanisms.
  • Collaborate with Production support and user community to triage and prioritize product defects and proposed enhancements.
  • Collaborate with Production Support and Training to create and disseminate release notes, patches, and other system updates.

Qualifications

Required

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in technology product and program management, project delivery, business requirements analysis, and/or process management.
  • Team-leading / direct report management experience.
  • Ability to develop a Strategic Roadmap inclusive of short, mid, and long-term technology goals.
  • Budgeting and P&L experience for a holistic program made up of multiple projects/moving pieces.
  • Experience defining, managing, and/or launching new software functionality.
  • Knowledge of multiple technical software delivery methodologies.
  • Advanced experience analyzing business requirements, process flows, and use cases.
  • Background in customer-centric product development.
  • Experience working side-by-side with design and engineering teams.
  • Experience with managing multiple stakeholders, including stakeholders at varied levels of the organization.
  • 4-Year degree in Information Technology, Business, or an equivalent level of knowledge through work experience in a related field.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for the business management of Ambius technology products and services and their commercial success. This role is responsible for setting the long-term vision and roadmap for the Ambius business technology solutions including, but not limited to, WDS (and its replacement system in 2025), E-service, Winning Proposal and Salesforce.

They will develop a vision and roadmap for the technology systems utilized based on input from internal stakeholders, customers, market research and their own industry insight. They will work closely with the Ambius team and vendors to deliver solutions that align with this vision, meet market needs and are delivered to a consistently high-quality standard.

This person will need excellent communication and collaboration as they will commonly work with cross-functional teams to learn the business, goals, and plans then produce recommendations and strategies to drive internal adoption and external sales. On a regular cadence, this position will summarize and present the results of their initiatives to Ambius leadership.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Helps to build and manage an annual technology budget by prioritizing efforts based on costs, benefits, risks, and ROI projections
  • Provides technical expertise for technology platforms in the areas of operational sales support, customer engagement, and overall client project delivery
  • Collaborates with IT business analysts and project teams to manage projects from inception to deployment, including oversight of relationships with 3rd party Developers, ensuring projects meet standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Directs partners in other key relationship positions, such as the IT Business Partner, IT Support Teams, and SMEs on business priorities and long-term business goals to shape the direction of work in the pipeline
  • Gains a deep understanding of internal and external customer experience, identifies functional gaps and generates new ideas that grow market share, improves customer experience and drives growth
  • Acts as an advocate for the product vision, building awareness internally and with partners.

  • Provides technical support for any migrations and upgrades where required
  • Write the business case for investments and gain internal approval

  • Collaborate with Production support and user community to triage and prioritize product defects and proposed enhancements
  • Collaborate with Production Support and Training to create and disseminate release notes, patches, and other system updates to the appropriate audience(s)

CANDIDATE SUMMARY

Required Experience
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in technology product and program management, project delivery, business requirements analysis, and/or process management.

  • Experience working side-by-side with design and engineering teams, both on and off shore
  • Experience with managing multiple stakeholders, including stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
