  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of warehouse and cooler.
  • Look for opportunities to improve safety, prevent accidents, monitor employees, and participate in safety of the operation.
  • Accurately and efficiently process orders to ensure customers are receiving their orders correctly, on time and with high quality product.
  • Track egg inventory levels to ensure product quantity fulfills orders.
  • Train employees on proper handling and operating of all warehouse equipment and machinery.
  • Oversee department scheduling - call-ins, attendance, break periods, etc.
  • Provide input and participate in progressive counseling / discipline when appropriate.
  • Communicate and explain company and department vision to employees.
  • Use Ovotrack to ensure product quantity.
  • Share department results with employees.
  • Maintain cooler biosecurity.
  • Perform inventories as needed.
  • Maintain shipping/receiving equipment.
  • Participate in inter-company planning interfacing for product movement.
  • Assist in other areas as required.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance with mechanic team.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three years warehousing or food distribution experience.
  • Strong functional knowledge of shipping, receiving and warehousing procedures.
  • Good foundational interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with documentation and paperwork.
  • High degree of initiative.
  • Competent computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Capable of operating power lift jacks, and of training team members on same.

Preferred

  • Associates or Bachelor Degree.

Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Shipping/Receiving Supervisor is to meet or exceed Kreher quality standards through assisting the Processing Manager by performing and monitoring duties relative to shipping orders and receiving raw materials that meet Kreher's standards and customer satisfaction. This is a 'hands on' position; physically working with shipping of orders and receipt of goods.

Job Responsibilities

The main objective of the Shipping/Receiving Team Supervisor's work is to:
  • Supervise the shipping and receiving operations and team members.
  • Work closely with QA manager, reacting quickly to QA's commands for product to be held for QA inspection, or for any other reason. Ensure product is pulled for sampling in a timely, accurate manner if required for inspection.
  • Work with the Director of Quality Assurance and Food Safety to assure that all standards are being met and all documents are being correctly completed.
  • Ensure labeling of pallets for code rotation is done properly to ensure good rotation for both finished goods and all materials and monitor products for valid dates (sell/use by, and packaging dates).
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of warehouse and cooler.
  • Look for opportunities to improve safety, prevent accidents, monitor employees, and participate in safety of the operation, maintain a clean and organized work area to avoid accidents and encourage department to do the same, by setting a personal example.
  • Accurately and efficiently process orders to ensure customers are receiving their orders correctly, on time and with high quality product.
  • Track egg inventory levels to ensure product quantity fulfills orders, and may have to reprioritize product to prevent order problems.
  • Train employees on proper handling and operating of all warehouse equipment and machinery.
  • Oversee department scheduling - call-ins, attendance, break periods, etc. Work closely with Processing Supervisor to manage shared personnel between the Processing Operation and Warehouse Operation.
  • Provide input and participate in progressive counseling / discipline when appropriate and utilize company documentation procedures for compliance and performance issues.
  • Communicate and explain company and department vision to employees, and maintain and encourage two-way communication by reaching out and getting to know each individual on the team.
  • Use Ovotrack to ensure product quantity.
  • Share department results with employees. Ensure recognition of individual and team achievements, as well as provide specific informal and formal feedback to employees in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain cooler biosecurity.
  • Perform inventories as needed.
  • Maintain shipping/receiving equipment.
  • Participate in inter-company planning interfacing for product movement.
  • Assist in other areas as required.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance with mechanic team to keep trucks and trailers in excellent running condition.
  • Maintain efficiency of department with regards to delivery schedule, pickups, direct store drops and packaging deliveries and pickups.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Has strong functional knowledge of shipping, receiving and warehousing procedures.
  • Possesses good foundational interpersonal and people management skills.
  • Has a strong attention to detail and accuracy with documentation and paperwork.
  • Shows a high degree of initiative.
  • Has competent computers skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Education and Experience

The physical work environment is a processing plant environment with frequent high noise level. However, the employee will often be exposed to:
  • Dust and dirt associated with agricultural farming
  • Excessive noise levels associated with a processing plant and machinery
  • Working in a cooler where temperatures are kept at 40ºF
