Responsibilities

  • Oversee project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow.
  • Act as the key point of contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Management to procure all required services, materials, and equipment.
  • Implement the global division manufacturing strategy in the country.
  • Develop proactive strategies to increase business profits, customer satisfaction, and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure achievement of established targets through oversight and definition of improvement actions.
  • Lead the setup of the production facility in Queensland, including workshop preparation, machinery, equipment, and resources.
  • Manage manufacturing function and operation teams and processes.
  • Implement localization plan and improve manufacturing technology and competence.
  • Execute division quality strategy and drive quality improvement.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations are in compliance with applicable standards.
  • Deliver operational/project targets to improve net promoter score (NPS).
  • Implement and ensure compliance with global and local standards related to operations/project execution.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor degree (engineering preferred) and 8 years of project management experience OR Associate degree and 10 years of project management experience
  • Up to 20% travel required

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification required or willingness to obtain it

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will support the execution of large and moderately complex projects. Your main tasks will include compliance with ABB policies, contractual agreements, and managing all aspects related to operations of the local manufacturing unit including the full scope of Production, Procurement, Quality & Operational Excellence and Logistics. The work model for the role is: #LI - Hybrid This role is contributing to the Motion - Traction Division in Richmond (Mechanicville), VA. You will be mainly accountable for: • Project Management: Supports the project controls activities including project plan documents, such as scope, financial plans, schedule and risk management plans. Monitoring and controlling project progress, efficient resource utilization and project financials besides overseeing project invoicing status, cost, expenses, and cash flow. Acts as the key point of contact for the customer and an escalation point for project issues. Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and effectively communicates with all stakeholders. Coordinates with Supply Chain Management to successfully procures all required services, materials, and equipment for the project from external and internal suppliers. • Strategy: Implement the global division manufacturing strategy in the country within the area of responsibility. Develop proactive strategies to increase business profits, customer satisfaction and operational effectiveness. Performance targets: Ensures achievement of established targets, through oversight and definition of improvement actions as needed. Focuses on achievement of operating cash flow, project on-time and on-cost, request on-time delivery (ROTD) and cost reduction. Manufacturing: Leads the setup of the production facility in Queensland, including workshop preparation, machinery, equipment and resources. Manages manufacturing function and operation teams and processes. Implements localization plan. Improves manufacturing technology and competence in line with division strategy. • Quality & Operational Excellence: Execute division quality strategy. Drives quality improvement through target setting, monitoring and benchmarking to continuously improve processes. Executes quality management for monitoring and validating day to day control of processes. Ensures manufacturing operations are in compliance with applicable standards. Drives continued improvements in productivity, delivery performance and cost optimization. • Customer satisfaction: Delivers operational/project targets (e.g. ROTD, lead time, quality, etc) to improve net promoter score (NPS). Ensures that manufacturing resources implement improvements that address issues identifies through Customer Complaint Resolution Process (CCRP), internal Transactional Partnership Survey (ITPS), Top 5 Quality Initiatives (T5QI) and other voice of the customer initiatives. • Safety and Integrity: Implement Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and business compliance standards and regulations whiting the units. Ensure a safe working environment, and continuous improvement in HSE Process and integrity performance. Personally lives the ABB values and Group standards. Standards and governance: Implement and ensures compliance with global and local standards, rules, tools, policies and processes related to operations/project execution and shares functional best practices lessons learned across the organization.
