The Quality Manager at Hitchiner Manufacturing is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Operation’s quality control program, establishing strategic plans and policies to meet or exceed customer expectations, and providing technical and statistical expertise.   • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and objectives.

  • Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within the company.
  • Provide and oversee inspection activity for product throughout the production cycle.
  • Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
  • Maintain an active role on internal continuous improvement teams.
  • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.
  • Determine defect root cause through effective RCCA methodology.
  • Identify, develop and implement the Quality Control Systems required to support the Operations’ business objectives.
  • Conduct performance appraisals of subordinates.
  • Manage the Quality Control function for all external customers.
  • Interact with customers to ensure satisfaction with Operation products and service.
  • Establish, monitor and communicate the operation’s goals for quality performance.
  • Ensure the highest standard of ethics is maintained throughout the Quality organization.
  • Conduct all activities in compliance with the Company’s Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field.
  • Ten plus years of experience in a quality assurance environment.
  • Five years in a management or supervisory role.
  • Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets.

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in an engineering field.
  • Black Belt certification.
  • Lean Methodology knowledge.
  • Investment casting experience in Quality or Engineering (5-10 years).
  • Experience across Aerospace and/or Automotive industry.

Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in Evaluating Performance:

1.Coordinate all aspects of the Operation’s quality control program.


2.Establish strategic plans, policies and procedures at all levels to ensure that the quality control program will meet or exceed internal and external customers’ needs and expectations.


3.Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.


4.Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams.


5.Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives


6.Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other managers to maximize product reliability, minimize costs and meet production / shipping requirements.


7.Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures where applicable.


8.Interpret quality control philosophy to key personnel within company.


9.Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for product throughout production cycle.


10.Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes.


11.Maintain active role on internal continuous improvement teams.


12.Design, develop and implement quality control training programs.


13.Drive to determine defect root cause through effective RCCA methodology.


14.Identify, develop and implement the Quality Control Systems required to promote and support the Operations’ business objectives.


15.Conduct performance appraisals of subordinates utilizing the appraisal process to achieve continuous growth in their capabilities and contributions.


Additional Responsibilities:

1.Manage the Quality Control function for all external customers by overseeing individual Quality Engineer responsibilities.


2.Interact with customers to ensure customer satisfaction with Operation products and service.


3.Establish, monitor and communicate the operation’s goals for quality performance.


4.Ensure that the highest standard of ethics is maintained throughout the Quality organization.


5.Conduct all activities in compliance with the “Company’s Code of Conduct”.


6.Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering field. A Master’s degree is desirable.


2. Ten plus years of experience in a quality assurance environment with five years in a management or supervisory role.


3. Black Belt certification preferred. Lean Methodology highly preferred.


4. Five to ten years in investment casting experience in Quality or Engineering is desirable but not required. Experience across Aerospace and or Automotive industry is highly desirable.


5. Computer literacy in word processing and spreadsheets is required
